Abstract:
A vacuum switch comprises a vacuum container, a grounding switch and a load switch disposed in the container, and an external connection conductor disposed in the vacuum container and to be connected electrically inside and outside the vacuum container, and it is characterized in that the grounding switch and the external connection conductor are electrically connected to each other in the vacuum container.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide vacuum switch suitable for a distribution and transformation system compatible between structural simplicity and reliability and a vacuum switchgear using the vacuum switch. In order to attain the above object, the vacuum switch is formed by containing switching portions into a vacuum container, and comprises a breaker, a grounding switch and an isolator as the switching portions, wherein the vacuum container is separated into at least two chambers, and the switching portion of the breaker is disposed in one of the chambers, and the switching portions of the grounding switch and the isolator are disposed in the other of the chambers.
Abstract:
A low-voltage circuit breaker has an enclosure with a rear wall and a front part, in which there is a switching contact system with connecting bars. Each of the connecting bars has a web arranged transversally to the longitudinal direction of the connecting bars; the webs are used for contacting the mating surfaces of the rear wall of the enclosure. Fastening means act in the longitudinal direction of the connecting bars.
Abstract:
A molded case circuit breaker is provided with a quick change current transformer assembly. The current transformer is used to sense overcurrent conditions and apply a signal to an electronic trip unit to trip the circuit breaker. The quick change assembly includes an insulated removable plate located adjacent an open cavity in the housing in which the current transformer is located. The current transformer is donut-type disposed about a load-side conductor located in a cavity in the housing rigidly fastened to the circuit breaker frame. In order to replace a current transformer, the insulated backplate is removed. Next the load-side conductor is unfastened and removed from the circuit breaker housing. The current transformer is then removed from the circuit breaker housing. In order to install a new current transformer, the steps are reversed. A force transmitting spacer is disposed adjacent a bight portion of a shunt, connected between a pivotally mounted contact arm and a load-side conductor. The force transmitting spacer transmits magnetic repulsion forces generated between the load-side conductor and the depending leg of the shunt adjacent the load-side conductor to the other depending leg of the shunt. By disposing the force transmitting spacer into the bight portion of the shunt the compression action required between the depending legs of the shunt is eliminated or reduced, thus reducing the blow open time significantly.
Abstract:
An electrical shorting switch assembly for use with an electrolytic cell includes a plurality of parallel path electrical switches. One of the switches is an arcing switch which is designed to be a last-to-open and last-to-close switch of the assembly. A common rotatable operating shaft is used to actuate opening and closing of the electrical switches. The arc switch has separate linking means between the arc switch and the shaft which permits sequential operation of the arc switch relative to the main current-carrying switch or switches. The arc switch linking means in conjunction with the linking means for the current switches determine that the arc switch is the last to open and last to close.
Abstract:
A low voltage vacuum switch and operating mechanism is detailed which is readily used as a shorting switch arrangement in electrolytic cells between the high current carrying bus bars of the cell. The switch has a very low profile and axial contact travel distance and is opened and closed by a means which translates rotational motion to a generally axial contact movement via a cam and connecting member, with overtravel dished washer spring means provided to keep the contacts closed until a positive opening force is applied. The low voltage vacuum shorting switch is detailed with axially movable non-weld contacts. The switch has a compact, rugged design for use in low voltage, high current severe environment application. A pair of thin flexible annular members having annular corrugations formed therein permit axial movement of the contacts.
Abstract:
An electrochemical cell circuit has vacuum interrupter cell by-pass switches provided in order to prevent the impurities in the environment, caused by leakage from the electrochemical cells, from interfering with the switch operation.
Abstract:
A flexible conductor which connects the movable rod side of a circuit breaker and a movable side connection conductor is devised to miniaturize the circuit breaker. In the circuit breaker in which a fixed electrode and a movable electrode are arranged to be capable of being connected/disconnected, and a terminal provided on the movable rod of the movable electrode and the movable side connection conductor arranged in the vicinity of the terminal are connected by a flexible conductor, the flexible conductor is formed by laminating a plurality of sheets of a belt-like metal sheet and has connection portions on both ends; one end side of the connection portion is connected to the terminal by keeping a width direction parallel to a drawing direction of the movable side connection conductor and by keeping a longitudinal direction parallel to a connecting/disconnecting direction; and in a state where an intermediate portion is twisted and bent in a right angle direction toward the movable side connection conductor to invert the front and back, the other end side of the connection portion is connected to the movable side connection conductor by keeping the width direction parallel to the connecting/disconnecting direction.
