摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for adaptive educational activities are disclosed. In one aspect, a computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a computing device that is configured to grant a given user access to a first group of activity modules based on a classification of the given user, user data and classification data. The method includes granting the user access to a first activity module and a second activity module, and preventing the user from accessing a third activity module. The method includes receiving interaction data based on the user interacting with the first activity module, and determining that the interaction data indicates an improper classification of the user. Based on the interaction data, the method includes maintaining the classification of the user, granting the user access to a fourth activity module, and preventing the user from accessing the second activity module.

摘要: A computing device translates a spoken word into a corresponding ordered set of spoken phonemes and analyzes correctness of the spoken word relative to a target word. The analyzing includes attempting to locate each of the spoken phonemes in an ordered set of grapheme-phoneme correspondences (GPCs) describing the target word, and determining whether or not the ordered set of spoken phonemes comprises a same number of phonemes as in the ordered set of GPCs. The analyzing also includes comparing the order of the ordered set of spoken phonemes against the order of the ordered set of GPCs. The computing device generates a report, based on the analyzing, that identifies at least one of the GPCs in the ordered set of GPCs as having been incorrectly applied in decoding the target word.

摘要: A teaching aid for those learning to tell time and learn the alphabet of a language. The teaching aid includes an interactive touchscreen alphabetic display. The present invention may assist in teaching the alphabet through providing a tactile-interactive medium, the touchscreen alphabetic display, for a user to select specific alphabetic characters and be provided visual feedback in the form of an image associate or corresponding with each selected alphabetic character. The teaching aid also provides a clock display for teaching time to the user.

摘要: Computer-implemented methods are provided. A method includes determining, by a processor, a cognitive load of a plurality of words included in a rapid serial visual presentation by using at least one metric. The cognitive load is determined on any of a word level and a word sequence level. The method further includes calculating, by the processor, a variable presentation rate for the plurality of words based on the cognitive load. The method also includes controlling, by the processor, a displaying of the plurality of words on a display device in accordance with the calculated variable presentation rate based on a threshold by temporarily reducing the variable presentation rate responsive to the cognitive load being above the threshold.

摘要: Example implementations herein relate generating a learning map. One example method involves a computing device receiving user input indicative of a linguistic term and a topic. The method also involves selecting a plurality of primary sources that include text related to the topic. The method also involves determining a statistical model that characterizes relationships between the linguistic term of the user input and a plurality of linguistic terms included in the text of the selected primary sources. The method also involves generating a learning map that includes a plurality of learning paths for learning the linguistic term of the user input based on at least the statistical model. A given learning path includes a sequence of linguistic terms. Adjacent linguistic terms in the sequence are selected based on at least a statistical measure of a relationship between the adjacent linguistic terms.

摘要: A method is disclosed where modified text, text display, and rate are performed to make reading more efficient including speed, comprehension, and retention. The text is displayed at a reader-controlled variable rate, in logical lines, emphasizing nouns and verbs vs. their modifiers, i.e., adjectives and adverbs in a manner that makes it easier for the reader to move through the text efficiently. These modifications, and others, are built into the reading software/application/system context, i.e., virtual or augmented reality or flat display, and can be tailored by reading material type, reader purpose, and reader personal preferences vs. the default positions for type and purpose. This method can be applied to any form of electronic display or interface and also may be specifically applied to printed material by performing some of these functions while preparing the product for printing. The text may be further annotated/modified while reading in accord with user goals.
