Abstract:
A primer, a method, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described. An example non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to instruct a printer to advance a media by a first distance. The instructions, when executed, also cause the processor to instruct the printer to advance the media by a second distance different than the first distance to align the media with a cutter assembly. The instructions, when executed, also cause the processor to adapt an interleave mask based on the second distance. The instructions, when executed, also cause the processor to instruct the cutter assembly to separate a first portion of the media from a second portion of the media while the printer is printing on the media.
Abstract:
A laser scanning assembly generates a laser beam and scans the laser beam through a plurality of scan lines to form desired dots. Each scan line is positioned to overlap an adjacent scan line and each dot includes a plurality of segments. The scanning assembly scans the laser beam through multiple scan lines to fully discharge each segment of each dot. The laser scanner assembly would typically be part of a laser printer.
Abstract:
A printing device using a print head ejecting ink from a plurality of nozzles to print ink dots of a plurality of dot diameters, includes a print-characteristic acquisition unit obtaining print characteristic information on dot diameters of ink dots to be printed per each predetermined portion of the plurality of nozzles, a distribution ratio determination unit determining a distribution ratio for distributing image data to the predetermined portions of the plurality of nozzles based on the information, a dot print position determination unit quantizing the image data to determine a dot print position based on the image data and sizes and an array of thresholds; and a plurality of masks based on dot distribution order determined according to the distribution ratio, distributing printing of each of the ink dots of the plurality of dot diameters to the dot print position determined by the dot print position determination unit.
Abstract:
A data processing apparatus determines a color range based on a dot counting value of a number of colors smaller than a number of colors subjected to thinning processing. Thus, even if the number of ink colors subjected to the thinning processing is great, a processing load of the determination of the color range can be reduced.
Abstract:
A method for pen drop weight calibration includes altering an image prior to printing based on the difference in printing performance of a first pen and a second pen to produce altered image data, the first pen and the second pen being disposed in the same printer. The altered image data is then printed with the printer.
Abstract:
A method for forming an image on recording media includes providing a support adapted to receive the recording media; providing a controller programmed for controlling a print head comprising a plurality of individually controllable marking elements to form the image on the recording media in accordance with image data corresponding to the image; and operating the print head to form a plurality of sub-images on the recording media, wherein the plurality of sub-images are stitched together to form the image with a stitching pattern that is determined based at least one a size of a portion of a feature of the image that can be formed in each sub-image of the plurality of sub-images.
Abstract:
An image recording device comprising a line head including a plurality of recording element arrays arranged in one direction such that the recording elements have overlapping regions at the mutually adjoining end portions, characterized by comprising a halftone processor for subjecting multilevel image data to a halftone process in accordance with a first half tone processing rule to form the pattern of the dots to be recorded, as a recording pattern, an allocation processor for allocating which of the recording element arrays adjoining in the overlapping regions is used to record according to the recording pattern, by using a second half tone processing rule to suppress the low-frequency component of a space frequency, and a driver for driving the recording elements so that the dot data allocated to the individual recording element arrays may be recorded by the recording elements of the individual recording element arrays contained in the line head.
Abstract:
An optical scanning device projects an image onto a photoreceptor within a print system. A laser light source generates a plurality of light beam outputs, wherein the light beam outputs are arranged in a two-dimensional parallelogram array within a substantially horizontal axis and a substantially vertical axis that is perpendicular to the horizontal axis. The two-dimensional parallelogram array has an odd number of rows of light beam outputs, wherein each row has an equal even number of light beam outputs. A rotating polygon mirror includes a plurality of deflecting surfaces, each of the deflecting surfaces deflects the light beams emitted from the laser light source. The light beam output array projects a first swath N onto the photoreceptor via the rotating mirror and swaths [N+1, N+2, . . . ] are subsequently placed at a level one-half down the number of light beam outputs of the previous swath. Each swath has the identical number of light emitting outputs as the two-dimensional array.
Abstract:
A method of generating halftone print data for overlapping end portions of a pair of consecutive printhead segments in an array of two or more printhead segments. Generally an end portion of a first printhead segment overlaps an end portion of a second printhead segment, in which each printhead segment includes a plurality of ink ejection nozzles. The method includes generating a dither value from a dither matrix, and then combining the dither value with an overlap signal, which represents an extent of overlap of the end portions, to produce an output value. A mathematical operation is then performed on continuous tone print data using a comparator, based on the output value, to produce the half tone data.
Abstract:
Provided is a printhead arrangement having a number of printhead segments arranged to have overlapping print regions, and a printer controller. The controller includes a sensor for sensing a temperature of the respective segments, said temperature indicative of an extent of the overlapping print regions. The controller is configured to supply the segments with half tone patterns for the regions by means of a dither matrix with an interpolation function, such that VA+VB is greater than V where VA and VB are respective independent dither matrix values of a pair of adjacent printhead segments and V is a continuous tone value to be represented in order to reduce artefacts in the overlapping regions.
