    摘要: A method for use in an endpoint device having a local storage system, to seamlessly access files in a cloud storage system. The method comprises: receiving, by a virtual file system driver, a request from a program running on the endpoint to access data within a file in a unified virtual file system, the local storage system being configured to maintain files, each file therein being in a stub or non-stub state and also being in a synchronized or a non-synchronized state, retrieving a portion of the file containing some of the requested data from the cloud storage system when the file is in a stub state; making the retrieved portion of the file available to the program upon being successfully retrieved; and maintaining the file in the non-stub and synchronized state for a period of time based on a determination that the file should be synchronized locally.

The queue data includes an estimated queue wait time for a customer to receive a service from a service provider at a service provider location. On an internet connecting device that is located away from the service provider, the queue data is accessed from the internet database. The queue data is continuously updated, so that when the customer requests the queue data, the updated queue data is calculated and displayed on the internet connecting device. The customer is informed of the time until the service provider can provide the service at the service provider location.

In at least some embodiments, a non-mechanical storage device may be detected and device information may be obtained for the non-mechanical storage device. Based, at least in part, on the device information, it may be determined whether the non-mechanical storage device is eligible for secure erasure. For an eligible device, a secure erase procedure may be initiated and success or failure of the secure erasure procedure may be reported. In at least some embodiments, firmware bugs may be detected and repaired when performing the secure erasure procedure.

The host computer is configured to operate a multi-user CAx environment including a part file, a plurality of local computers in communication with the host computer, a plurality of data storage systems in communication with the host computer, and a load balancing module within the CAx environment. Each of the local computers includes a local CAx environment portion of the multi-user CAx environment. Each of the data storage systems includes at least a portion of the part file. The load balancing module is configured to cause the host computer to assign edits originating at one of the local computers to one of the plurality of data storage systems.
