Abstract:
Communication system on an IP network between automation equipment capable of executing at least one program to provide automation functions and one or more remote items of equipment executing one or several computer applications. The communication system conforms with the WSDL (Web Services Description Language) language and provides monitoring, display, control, configuration or programming functions of the automation equipment to remote equipment. The communication system uses at least one service description document that conforms with the WSDL language accessible through a URL address and that describes capabilities of one or several WEB services capable of interacting with a program on the automation equipment.
Abstract:
The present invention describes a communication system on an IP network (50) between an automation equipment (10) and one or more remote devices (30). The communication system is based on the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) for the purpose of providing the remote device (30) with automation equipment (10) supervision, display, control, configuration or programming functions. The automation equipment (10) comprises at least one WEB service (21) and/or one WEB client (22) able to interact with a program (20) of the automation equipment (10), capable of decoding messages received (51, 54) from the IP network (50) encoded according to the SOAP protocol and capable of encoding messages to be sent (52, 53) according to the SOAP protocol. A service description document (61), accessible to a remote device (30, 30null) describes the capacities of one or more WEB services (21) implanted in an automation equipment (10). This document may be stored or constructed dynamically by a generator (62).
Abstract:
A home appliance networking system and a method for controlling the same. At least one home appliance is connected to a network and controlled in response to control information received over the network and transmits its state information and self-information over the network. An agent is connected to the home appliance to recognize the self-information transmitted from the home appliance and manage transmission and reception of all data over the network by the appliance on the basis of the recognized information. A service provider provides additional information regarding the home appliance, not included in the self-information of the appliance, to the agent. If a new home appliance is connected to the network to which other home appliances remain connected, the agent recognizes all information of the new home appliance and manages transmission and reception of all data over the network by the appliance on the basis of the recognized information. As a result, whenever a new home appliance is connected to the network, it need not exchange data with other home appliances connected to the network, thereby enabling data to be efficiently transmitted and received over the network.
Abstract:
A system is provided for automatically analyzing timing constraints of capabilities, and establishing parameters for automatic generation of finite-state machines which schedule from print engine capabilities. The system generates a finite-state machine which encodes, for each capability, a means by which any given schedule may be extended to one that includes a correct or optimal schedule for that particular capability. The system generates finite-state machines for both forward and backwards scheduling. It is adapted for both greedy and optimal search strategies. The system facilitates selectively leaving classes of constraints for run-time checking in order to reduce a size of a finite-state machine. Finite machines so generated are suitably used with schedulers to alternately control operation of a print engine.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for compositional modeling of print engines. The system automatically derives a complete list of all of the capabilities of a described print engine. The method includes providing compositional models of components forming the print engine. The models describe local capabilities of each component including part transformation abilities as well as timing constraints. Using the component models, configurations are created by connecting the components. Once the component models are connected, the capabilities of the configurations are directly derived. A capability is a part that can be produced by the configuration, together with the itinerary required to produce the part, the inputs from which the output is assembled, and the timing constraints to be observed when executing the itinerary. Capabilities are the fundamental connection between the description of a job to be printed by a print engine and the print engine scheduling and control software. Capabilities are themselves compositional and are used to automatically derive scheduling and control software for customer-configured print engines.
Abstract:
A method for the automatic detection of at least one property of at least one replaceable component of an apparatus for the production of printed products is disclosed and such an apparatus and a system for the production of printed products are disclosed. The property of the component of the apparatus or of the system is detected by using an electronic device for a wireless detection of component-related data.

Abstract:
Systems and methods self-organize a multifunctional power and energy control and management system by integrating multiple backplane based modules through module descriptions, the module descriptions including control logic and parameters associated with the modules. Dynamic data table structures may be configured based on information provides with the module descriptions and provide for improved data accessing, storing, and updating.
Abstract:
The subject disclosure pertains to the communications configuration of programmable logic controller modules in an industrial automation environment. Systems and methods are provided that automatically enables a programmable logic controller module to operate on a communications network once communicatively coupled thereto. Other control modules, a personal computer, or the like can access and/or otherwise interact with a module as soon as it coupled to a network. Accordingly, manual module configuration it is not required prior to access and interaction in an industrial control system.
