    摘要: In an internal latent image type direct positive silver halide emulsion containing core/shell type silver halide grains wherein at least light-sensitive sites of the silver halide internal core which has been subjected to doping with metal ions or chemical sensitization, or both, is covered with a silver halide outer shell, the improvement wherein a photographic additive which is adsorbed on silver halide in said emulsion or interacts with silver ion, said additive being a compound which functions to change the crystal form or particle size of the silver halide grains in the case of the formation thereof or acts as a sensitizer or a sensitizing assistant in the case of chemically sensitizing the core particles but has a harmful influence on photographic properties if it remains after use of it, is deactivated by a deactivator prior to completion of the formation of said core/shell type silver halide grains or completion of surface chemical ripening of said grains. A process for producing the above internal latent image type direct positive silver halide emulsion is also disclosed.

    摘要: Disclosed are direct positive photographic photosensitive materials which have at least one internal latent image core/shell type silver halide emulsion layer, which has not been pre-fogged, on a support wherein the silver halide molar ratio of the core and shell of the emulsion is not more than 1/5, and wherein at least one type of compound which can be represented by the formula (N-I) indicated below is included in the photosensitive material. ##STR1## In this formula, Z represents a non-metal atomic group which is required to form a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, and Z may be substituted with substituents. R.sup.1 is an aliphatic group, and R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group or an aromatic group. R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be substituted with substituents. Furthermore, R.sup.2 may be joined to the heterocyclic ring which is completed by and form a ring. However, at least one of the groups represented by R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and Z contains an alkynyl group, acyl group, hydrazine group or hydrazone group, or alternatively a 6-membered ring is formed with R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 and a dihydropyridinium skeleton is formed. Moreover, at least one of the groups represented by R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and Z may be a group which promotes adsorption on silver halide. Y is a counter ion for balancing the electrical charge, and n is 0 or 1.

    摘要: A direct-positive photographic material for producing images by fogging development wherein the photographic material contains an unfogged silver halide emulsion layer. The silver halide grains in the unfogged emulsion have a layered grain structure wherein there is a first phase in which is localized a relatively high silver chloride content of at least 20 mol percent based on the total silver halide content of the grain. A second phase contains from less silver chloride than the first phase down to no silver chloride and the total silver chloride in the grain does not exceed 30 mol percent.The physical position of the first phase in the grain is not critical.The emulsion is either not chemically sensitized or only slightly sensitized.The photographic material and its use includes both producing black and white and colored photographic images and has high sensitivity to light and by fogging development yields pure image whites.

    摘要: An internal latent image type positive silver halide emulsion has improved sensitivity reduction in low illuminance exposures. A color diffusion transfer light-sensitive material incorporates the emulsion and has reduced sensitivity reduction. The internal latent image type positive silver halide emulsion is prepared using a polymer having a repetitive unit derived from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having at least one thioether structure on a side chain as a deflocculating agent to form silver halide grains and subjecting the grain surfaces to a chemical sensitization in the presence of a polymer having a repetitive unit represented by the following Formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group and Q represents a group selected from the group consisting of groups represented by the following Formula (1) to Formula (4): ##STR2## wherein q represents an integer of 2 to 4; ##STR3## wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each independently represents a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group; ##STR4## wherein Z.sup.1 represents a group of atoms necessary to form a substituted or unsubstituted lactam ring, a substituted or unsubstituted oxazolidone ring, or a substituted or unsubstituted pyridone ring; and A represents a single bond, a --C(.dbd.O)-- group, or a group represented by the following Formula (3a): ##STR5## wherein B represents an --O-- group or an --N(R.sup.4)-- group, in which R.sup.4 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group; and k represents an integer of 1 to 6; ##STR6## wherein A has the same meaning as A in the above Formula (3); D represents a single bond, an --O-- group or an --N(R.sup.5)-- group; m and n each represents an integer of 1 to 6, which satisfy the relationship of m+n.dbd.4 to 7, in which R.sup.5 represents a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, or a group represented by the following Formula (4a): ##STR7## wherein R.sup.6 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group.

The outermost layer consists essentially of silver chloride which accounts for no more than 10 mol % of the silver halide in the internal latent image silver halide grain. Such photographic materials display an increased sensitivity while maintaining an adequate image density.

    摘要: In a method for forming a direct positive color image which comprises image-wise exposing to light a light-sensitive material comprising a support having provided thereon at least one photographic emulsion layer contaiing unfogged internal latent image type silver halide grains and a color image-forming coupler; developing the light-sensitive material with a surface developing solution containing an aromatic primary amine type color developing agent in the presence of a nucleating agent and/or fogging exposure; bleaching and fixing the resulting material to form the direct positive color image, the improvement is characterized in that the developing solution has a pH of 11.5 or less and does not substantially contain benzyl alcohol; the color coupler is a compound which forms or releases a substantially non-diffusive dye by oxidation coupling with a developing agent, and the internal latent image type silver halide grains have a particular core/shell structure.According to the method, a direct positive color image having a high maximum color density and a low minimum image density can be obtained in a short time.
