Embodiments are configured to be coupled to first and second end portions of the beam and to apply a bending moment to the beam and create a pure bending condition in an intermediate portion of the beam. Embodiments are further configured to cyclically alternate the direction of the bending moment applied to the beam such that the intermediate portion of the beam cyclically bends in opposite directions in a pure bending condition.

    摘要: A heating furnace for testing middle and long span structures including a modular partition structure to adjust an inner volume of the heating furnace, effectively performing a load-coupled heating test of full scale members such as a beam, a short column, a slab, a conjunction frame, and a deck plate. The heating furnace for testing middle and long span structures includes a partition unit formed of a refractory material and partitioning a heating space in a main body to block transfer of heat generated from one space to the other space. A test sample is installed in the heating space of the main body partitioned by the partition unit according to a size of the test sample, and then, heat and a compression force are applied to the test sample to perform a fireproof performance test. The fireproof performance test of structure members having various lengths of 4 m, 6 m and 10 m can be performed, and consumption of various utilities consumed during the test can be optimized. In addition, since the heating furnace can perform an actual material test of full scale structures such as continuous span beams and long span beams, deck plates, or bridge trusses of civil structures, deck plates for ships, and so on, target fireproof performance estimation of various shape conditions can be performed to increase applicability of the test.

At least one of the actuators driving the mechanical linkage acts against an artificial load characterized by a stiffness. The stiffness is selected to increase a resonance frequency of the test fixture to allow fatigue testing at higher frequencies for a wider range of samples.

    摘要: A unitary test piece which dimensionally conforms with standardized dynamic tear testing guidelines comprises a middle section and two end sections welded thereto. The middle section is made of the test-subject metallic material. The two end sections are each made of a metallic material which is compatible with the test-subject metallic material, and primarily serve the purpose of combining with the middle section at its longitudinal ends in order to together form the dimensionally suitable test piece. The length of the middle section is at least the minimum such length that will totally encompass plastic deformation of such metallic material when subjected to dynamic tear testing, this depending on the nature of such metallic material. Ferrous end sections are compatible with a ferrous middle section; non-ferrous end sections of a particular designation are compatible with a non-ferrous middle section of the same designation. The invention advantageously permits economical utilization of test-subject metallic material under circumstances in which available samples thereof are expensive, limited, inappropriately or problematically sized, inappropriately or problematically configured, and/or intended to be tested for one or more properties in addition to dynamic tear.

    摘要: An arrangement of elements which are used to restrain and deflect a pipe specimen to a prescribed form with precisely controlled loads. A rigid frame includes a movable pipe bending form to which one end of a pipe specimen is connected and a rotating table to which the second end of the pipe specimen is connected. Means for assessing the drive torque used to draw the pipe specimen over the pipe bending form is provided in the form of a load cell. The rotating table is used in combination with a travelling pipe end truck foundation to generate a bending moment in the pipe specimen in the same plane as the pipe specimen is being bent by the pipe bending form. By the use of precise loads on the pipe specimen, computer analysis of the simulated reeling of the given pipe construction will produce predictions of the reeling tension, shear, and bending moment in the pipe at the point of the travelling pipe end as this point on the pipe approaches contact with the reel.
