    摘要: A microprocessor (8) controlled power-saving electronic measuring system is disclosed. A load cell (1) generates an output signal indicative of the magnitude of the load applied to the cell (1). A DC power supply (2) is switched to supply the load cell (1) with power pulses (10) at varying frequencies and duty cycles determinable by the microprocessor (8) to optimize battery life. The microprocessor (8) determines the optimal duty cycle and frequency for the power pulses responsive to desired parameters. The circuitry of the present invention is located in close proximity to a temperature sensor (34) which accurately reads the temperatures of all of the components and compensates for all heat related inaccuracies simultaneously. The microprocessor (8) determines a temperature corrected value for the load cell (1) output via a previously programmed table containing the temperature response characteristics for the load cell (1) and the circuitry. In an over/under indicator mode, segments of the display (36) LED's are configured to graphically indicate whether the current weight on the scale is within a desired tolerance. A power saving sleep mode in described in which the system voltage level is reduced, and most of the circuitry is disabled.

    摘要: Strain gages are attached to respective strain sensing areas of the strain generator of a load cell. Those strain gages which are mounted on expansive sides of the strain generator are connected in series with each other, and those strain gages which are mounted contactive sides of the strain generator are connected in series with each other, forming first and second series-connected circuits. The first and second series-connected circuits are connected in series with each other as a half bridge. A load applied to the strain generator is detected by an output signal produced from the junction between the first and second series-connected circuits. A temperature compensating resistor for compensating for a temperature-dependent change in the output signal due to a change in the temperature of the strain generator is connected in a circuit separate from the half bridge. Gain control is effected to eliminate a change in the output signal from the load detecting circuit based on a change in the resistance of the temperature compensating resistor.

    摘要: An energy efficient scale using a load cell for weight detection and a power supply for powering the load cell at one or another of three different current levels. The highest current level provides accurate weight indication. The intermediate current level provides only a signal indicating the presence of a package on the scale. The lowest current level is sufficient only for keeping the load cell electrically centered. If a package is placed on the scale while the load cell is receiving current at the intermediate level, then a resulting package detection signal causes the scale to switch to full operating current.

    摘要: This invention is directed to a load-indicating apparatus for measuring the deflection of a relatively stiff non-spring member. The apparatus includes a non-spring member such as the stationary axle of a truck which is capable of flexing in a predetermined direction under load. Mounted on the axle are two spaced-apart, rigid supports which upstand therefrom in a direction whereby the upper ends of the supports will move toward and away from each other as the axle flexes. A transducer is connected to the upper ends of the supports for measuring the distance therebetween as they move and to provide an indication of the load on the axle.

    摘要: A series of pulses from a controlled pulse generator are counted by a counter and the count is converted to a negative analog voltage signal having a value denoting the count. A positive analog voltage signal is provided in accordance with the raw gross weight of a batching hopper. Both analog signals are applied to the non-inverting input of an operational amplifier having a gain of ''''two.'''' When the values of the two analogs are equal, the amplifier output is zero. The pulse generator is controlled by a comparator that monitors the zero output condition to stop the further production or forwarding of pulses. The counter registers the total weight and the processed analog signal at the amplifier output represents the net weight added to the hopper for each material admission.
