    摘要: A checkweigher assembly includes a frame that is rotatable about an axis of rotation, a scale operatively connected with the frame, and a holder member operatively connected with the scale. The holder member is substantially supported by the scale. The holder member includes first and second grip members, each having an outer surface. The outer surfaces of the first and second grip members are arranged in a face-to-face relationship and are axially spaced apart by a gap. The first grip member is movable from a first position to a second position. The gap is defined by a first minimum length when the first grip member is in the first position and a second minimum length when the first grip member is in the second position, wherein first minimum length is greater than the second minimum length. A method of weighing objects with the checkweigher assembly is provided.

    摘要: A conveyor (10) conveys stacks of newspapers to a weigh station (A). The weigh station produces a digital weight signal which is processed by an electric circuit (B) to determine whether each bundle contains a preselected number of newspapers. A display (F) provides an indication whether or not the weighed bundle contains the preselected number of newspapers. More specifically, the electronic circuit includes a microprocessor (22) which is programmed to store a preselected number of acceptable bundle weights in a tare calculation memory (72). An algorithm implementing routine (78) averages the stored weights to determine an average weight or tare. A subtraction circuit or routine (52) subtractively combines the tare and the measured weight. A divider circuit or routine (56') divides the tare by twice the number of newspapers which are to be in each bundle to determine the weight of half a paper. A comparing circuit or routine (54) compares the weight difference signal with the weight of half an article to determine whether or not each measured bundle contains the proper number of papers. If the bundle contains the proper number of papers, the measured bundle weight replaces the least recently stored weight in the tare calculation memory and a new tare is determined. In this manner, the tare is readjusted after every acceptable bundle is weighed such that the tare is a function only of the weight of precedingly accepted bundles and may fluctuate widely with variations in the density of ink, paper, and the like.

    摘要: The system controls the weights of individual charges of product or material accumulated by feeding material, preferably at a high "bulk" flow rate and then at a relatively low "dribble" flow rate, into one or more buckets or hoppers. As material is accumulated within each bucket, the system compensates against the effects of vibrational forces and flow rate and, upon termination of material accumulation, it corrects dribble time and final weight by respectively adjusting the bulk and dribble weights for the next charge, all with respect to an electronically established set weight corresponding to the desired weight of each charge. A linear voltage differential transformer (LVDT) senses the position of each bucket and provides electrical signals which are utilized by interface and control circuitry to control charge weight and provide an internal reference. The control system is particularly suited for use in combination with packaging systems.

    摘要: A system for managing of bulk liquids and/or bulk solids for in-vitro diagnostics is disclosed. The system comprises a sample processing unit and a container unit for receiving a supply container supplying the sample processing unit with a bulk liquid/solid and/or a waste container receiving waste from the sample processing unit. The system further comprises a weight measuring device comprising a loading plate, a base and a force measuring cell. The force measuring cell comprises a sensor comprising a tensioned sensor wire. The loading plate is biased with respect to the base by a weight applied to the loading plate by a container and to transfer force to the force measuring cell. The transferred force causes a deformation of the force measuring cell and a change in tension of the sensor wire causing a change in vibrational frequency resulting in a signal indicative of the weight of the container.
