摘要: A method for determining flow rates and phase fractions within a throughbore is disclosed. The method includes providing a mixture of one or more fluids through a fluid flow path in a throughbore at a flow rate, reducing the flow rate, slidably moving a first and second sleeve along the throughbore to a first position of a plurality of positions, measuring a first and second differential pressure at the first position, calculating a first loss pressure ratio from the first and second differential pressure. The method further includes slidably moving the first sleeve and second sleeve to each of the others of the plurality of positions in succession after the first position, measuring a plurality of differential pressures and calculating a loss pressure ratio at each of the plurality of positions, and calculating a plurality of flow rates phase fractions of the fluids flowing through the fluid flow path.

摘要: An airflow sensor assembly for an air duct is provided. The airflow sensor assembly includes an air duct having an interior wall and an exterior wall, a high pressure detection device, and a low pressure detection device. The low pressure detection device includes a hollow ring disposed within the interior wall of the air duct. The hollow ring includes an inner periphery portion, an outer periphery portion, and a first set of apertures defined therein. The first set of apertures is spaced around the inner periphery portion of the hollow ring. The airflow sensor assembly further includes a pressure sensor fluidly coupled to the high pressure detection device and the low pressure detection device.

摘要: A method produces a void fraction (VF) error curve which correlates an apparent VF with the actual VF of a multi-phase flow, the method comprising (a) using a device to measure a property of the multi-phase flow from which an apparent VF may be calculated; (b) calculating the apparent VF using the measured property from the device; (c) determining the actual VF of the multiphase flow using a radiometric densitometer; (d) using the values from steps (b) and (c) to calculate the VF error; (e) repeating steps (b) through (d) for all expected flow conditions to generate a VF error curve.

摘要: In a drilling system for drilling a borehole with drilling fluid, a flow loop communicates the drilling fluid, and a differential pressure device in the flow loop at a measurement location produces a pressure drop in flow. The measurement location can be between the borehole and a drilling choke or between a mud pump and the borehole. Piping diverts a portion of the flow at the measurement location so a flowmeter can measure the diverted flow portion. A processing unit receives a measured parameter from the flowmeter and determines a diverted flow rate of the diverted portion therefrom to correlate it to a value of the main flow rate through the flow loop at the measurement location.

摘要: A turbulator adapted to be mounted to or inserted in an inlet portion of a flow meter for a ventilator is disclosed. The turbulator is adapted to create a turbulent gas flow in the inlet portion downstream of the turbulator upon passage of a gas flow therethrough. A flow meter for a ventilator is provided. The flow meter may comprise such turbulator. The turbulator may be arranged in the inlet portion of the flow meter. A membrane for a ventilator flow meter is provided, as well as a flow meter comprising the membrane. A flow meter comprising a turbulator and a membrane is disclosed.

摘要: A flow-rate measurement assembly for measuring a flow rate of a medium through a measurement pipe, comprising at least one differential-pressure producer, and comprising a differential-pressure measurement transducer for providing a differential-pressure measurement signal, which depends upon the difference between the high-pressure-side media pressure and the low-pressure-side media pressure. The difference is a measure of the flow rate of the medium. The evaluating unit is designed to determine a relationship between the differential-pressure measurement signal and a characteristic parameter of a fluctuation of the differential-pressure measurement signal, to judge the determination of a monotonically decreasing relationship between the differential-pressure measurement signal and the characteristic parameter to be an indication of a clogged high-pressure line, and to judge the determination of a monotonically increasing relationship between the differential-pressure measurement signal and the characteristic parameter, the monotonically increasing relationship of which is significantly stronger than the monotonically increasing relationship of an unclogged flow-rate measurement assembly, as an indication of a clogged low-pressure line.

Corresponding turbocharger and method of measuring a mass flow rate are also provided.

摘要: A bi-directional flow sensor may be adapted for reducing pneumatic noise during pressure sensing with a flow passing through the flow sensor. The flow sensor may include a hollow, tubular member having a throat section disposed between a ventilator end and a patient end. A flow restrictor may be disposed in the throat section and may be adapted to measure differential pressure in the flow. A baffle may be mounted at the ventilator end and may be adapted to minimize non-axial flow at pressure taps located on opposing ends of the flow restrictor. The patient end may include a flow obstruction configured to promote uniform velocity across the flow at the pressure taps during exhalation flow from the patient end to the ventilator end. The flow sensor can minimize pneumatic noise to less than 0.1 LPM to allow accurate patient flow measurement and triggering of inhalation and exhalation phases at flow rates of 0.2 LPM.
