摘要: A dry-particulate monitoring system for a machine that distributes dry-particulate to the ground by metering product into a flowing airstream. The airstream is diverted into several tubes mounted on booms covering some horizontal distance. At the end of each tube is a deflector designed to direct the flow of material to a desired location with a particular coverage. An acoustic-based sensor of the preferred embodiment is placed on each deflector to detect material flowing through each tube or pipe or against the deflector. The information that is gathered from the sensors is sent to the dry-particulate spreader operator, who is able to view the real time operation of the dry-particulate flow. The system may be capable of detecting presence or absence of flow (i.e., blockage), or may detect variance of flow in individual pipes over time, or variances of flow between different pipes.

摘要: The force calculation system of the present invention is provided with: an air blowing unit for blowing air at a predetermined pressure; a flow passage for air blown from air blowing unit; a sensing unit for changing the ease of flow of air that flows through a flow passage by deforming when an external force is given; a storage unit for storing in advance the flow volume-force correspondence information showing the correspondence between the magnitude of the force received by the sensing unit and the flow volume at which air blown from air blowing unit flows through the flow passage; and a processing unit for calculating the magnitude of external force received by the sensing unit, on the basis of the flow volume of air flowing through the flow passage as measured by a flow volume meter; and the flow volume-force correspondence information stored in the storage unit.

摘要: A force sensor utilizing force sensing element to generate an output signal that is commensurate with the force applied to the sensor. The force sensor includes a support element coupled to a resilient deflectable portion and at least one pivotable arm portion extending from the resilient deflectable portion; and a force sensing element supported by the base element and operably coupled to the at least one pivotable arm portion, wherein the force sensing element outputs an output signal that is proportional to a force applied to the at least one pivotable arm portion. The force sensor may be used a mass flow meter by coupling a fluid passage to the force sensor. The structure of the force sensor makes use of mechanical amplification to greatly increase the sensitivity of the sensor.

摘要: The flow meter probe with force sensors has the body of a frustum of a regular pyramid with a force sensor disposed upon each face. The force sensors are mounted in bores defined in the probe body and include a pin that may be displaced in the bore to exert pressure on an electrical transducer. The transducer may be a ceramic, piezoelectric sensor or a Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) sensor. The pin has an aerodynamically- or hydrodynamically-shaped head, a cylindrical body, and a frustoconical tail to concentrate force exerted upon the sensor. The head of the pin protrudes slightly above the face of the probe body so that aerodynamic and hydrodynamic forces are exerted directly against the pin, and pin displacement measures the forces directly. A plurality of probes may be placed in the path of fluid flow in a variety of configurations, as desired.

摘要: A fiber optic polarimetric strain sensor and associated data acquisition system capable of all-optical measurements of physical parameters, such as structural strain, gas and liquid pressure, acceleration and vibration, gas and liquid flow rate, and force without fire and explosion hazards associated with conventional strain gage technologies, such as resistance foil strain gages. The polarimetric strain sensor houses a sensitive element—a length of single-mode optic fiber—changing polarization of a single-mode optical signal running in the fiber under some mechanical effects, specifically twisting and radial compressing. A multi-channel time division multiplexing data acquisition system indicates the polarization state deviation caused by the strain, so allow measuring the parameters. The invention may be embodied for measurements of any phenomenon that can be transformed in stress on an optical fiber.

摘要: An elevator for bulk material includes an elevator head that mounts a mass flow measuring device. The mass flow measuring device includes an achoring plate, a resiliently deformable connection; a mounting plate and a load cell series interconnected in a load transferring circuit. One end of the load cell is secured to the anchoring plate; and the other end thereof is secured to a fixing member protruding from the mounting plate. Consequently the moment arm between the resiliently deformable connection and the load cell is longer than in prior art devices. This in turn reduces the effect of thermal expansion and contraction on the accuracy of the device.

摘要: In the field of mass flow measuring apparatuses, there is a need for greater accuracy of known devices. The invention concerns an impeller for projecting bulk material that otherwise might fail to contact a mass flow measuring apparatus during normal use. The impeller includes a surface inclined relative to a locus of its travel, whereby centrifugal forces cause granular material engaged by the surface to rise to a peripheral zone for projection towards a sensor member.The invention also relates to a radar doppler speed measuring apparatus for use in mass flow senors; to methods and apparatuses for compensating for longitudinal inclination of mass flow sensor members; and to methods and apparatuses for calibrating such devices.
