    摘要: A sensor is provided for sensing a value of a physical parameter characteristic of the sensor's environment. The sensor is implemented in semiconductor technology. A behavior of the sensor's electronic circuitry is affected by stress. The stress is induced by a film covering the circuitry or only part thereof. The stress is caused by the film's material, whose dimensions depend on a value of the parameter. This dependence is different from the 5 dependence of the circuitry's substrate on the same parameter.

    摘要: A displacement sensor having a rectangular shaped elastic member. A piezoelectric element is attached to a first main face of the elastic member. The piezoelectric element has a rectangular-shaped piezoelectric sheet and electrodes on both main faces of the piezoelectric sheet. The piezoelectric sheet is made of poly-L-lactic acid and is at least uniaxially-stretched. The piezoelectric element is attached so that the uniaxial-stretching direction of the piezoelectric sheet is 45° relative to a long-side direction of the elastic member. When the elastic member is bent along the long-side direction, the piezoelectric sheet is stretched along the long-side direction, and the piezoelectric element generates voltage of predetermined level.

    摘要: A piezoelectric measuring element comprises at least one bar with transverse effect which can be used with two conductor technology. Poles comprising the metallizations, electrodes and lines in the measuring element are embodied with one or more piezoelectric bars with transverse effect such that the electric capacitances thereof with respect to the housing are identical. There can be a completely symmetrical design of the poles. A capacitor from one pole to the housing can correspond to the difference in capacitance of both poles to the environment.

    摘要: Devices for sensing gradients are constructed from material whose properties change in response to gradients. One embodiment of the device is a transducer (200) for sensing gradients that includes the material (210) and two or more electrodes (240, 270) coupled to the material. In one embodiment, gradients in a surrounding medium (110) modify the energy gap of the material in the transducer (130) producing a diffusion current density (150). The material is configured to connect to a current or voltage measurement device (520, 530, 540) where a measurement is used to determine the gradient in the medium (160). The devices can be used to measure pressure, temperature, and/or other properties. The transducer can be built on the same substrate as complementary circuitry. A transducer made of Indium. Antimonide is used in marine seismology to measure pressure gradients.

The new elements function under conditions such that electrical conductivity is dominated by Poole-Frenkel transport. A substantial piezoconductive effect appears in this regime, allowing the new sensors to exhibit sensitivity to applied strain as much as two orders of magnitude in excess of prior art sensors based on doped silicon.

    摘要: An apparatus for converting measurement signals into digital signals suitable for processing in a microprocessor (12), with the signals having been initiated in a piezo sensor (6) by accelerations acting on the sensor during the impacts of a percussion device (1), particularly a hydraulic hammer, and being used to determine the number of work strokes that have been executed in the impact direction (arrow 3) of the percussion device (1). The conversion apparatus includes: a rectifier (8) that is connected to the output (6a) of the piezo sensor (6) and suppresses the negative component of the measurement signal; a peak-value detector (9) that is connected to the rectifier (8) and converts the remaining, positive component of the measurement signal into an envelope curve; a high-pass filter (10) that causes the envelope curves of consecutive measurement signals to be converted into intermediate signals whose amplitude respectively has a zero passage; and a comparator (11) that is disposed downstream of the high-pass filter (10) and whose output is connected to the digital input (12a) of the microprocessor (12), thereby effecting the conversion of the intermediate signals into digital signals having a rectangular amplitude response.

    摘要: A circuit which converts one parameter to another such as from temperature to electricity. The circuit comprises a three winding differential transformer with one winding connected to output terminals and each end of the other windings connected to a source (or drain) of a different one of four field effect transistors. The circuit is adapted for receiving an alternating current source to be coupled between drains (or sources) of the transistors connected to one end of each winding and the drains (or sources) of the other transistors. A temperature measuring device and reference temperature measuring device are connected to respective ones of two of the transistors to set the current limits of the transistors as a function of temperature. A voltage produced at the output terminals, when the alternating current source is applied, is proportional to the difference in temperature of the temperature measuring devices.
