    摘要: A method and structure are disclosed for simultaneous detection of the relative positions between first and second members of each joint in a multiplicity of joints in a system. In the multiplicity of joints, as the relative positions between the first and second members of a joint change, a position-sensitive vibration source associated with that joint generates a vibration signal with a characteristic frequency spectrum. Vibration signals from the multiplicity of joints combine into a mixed vibration signal. This mixed vibration signal is detected and separated into individual characteristic frequency spectra by a vibration-detecting device to enable simultaneous monitoring of the positions of each of the joints in the multiplicity of j oints. Joints may be rotary, linear, or a combination of joint types.

    摘要: A device for measuring an absolute angle includes first and second rotatable members having first and second radii and capable of rotating over first and second angles respectively, a first number of detectable elements mounted on the first rotatable member, a second number of detectable elements mounted on the second rotatable member, and at least one sensor for detecting rotation of the detectable elements. The second rotatable member is coupled with the first rotatable member such that the second angle is equal to the first angle times the ratio of the first radius and the second radius. The first radius is equal to a first integer times a factor, while the second radius is equal to a second integer times said factor. The product of the first number and the second integer, and the product of the second number and the first integer, are co-prime.

    摘要: A displacement sensor for sensing the displacement of a movable component of a device is provided. A flexible element of the displacement sensor includes a mounting portion mounted to the device and a coupling portion spaced apart from the mounting portion. A displacement conversion mechanism is coupled to the movable component and is further coupled to the coupling portion of the flexible element. The displacement conversion mechanism is configured to convert a larger displacement of the movable component into a smaller displacement of the coupling portion of the flexible element. The flexible element is arranged such that a displacement at the coupling portion causes the flexible element to bend.
