Abstract: A method of monitoring a set of meters that are connected to a common remote processor device, the method comprising both first steps performed in each meter for: acquiring primary measurements of a magnitude representative of the occurrence of an anomaly; selecting pertinent measurements from the primary measurements, the pertinent measurements satisfying a pertinence criterion; regularly transmitting the pertinent measurements to the remote processor device; and second steps performed in the remote processor device, for: comparing, for each meter, the pertinent measurements with a detection threshold common to all of the meters of the set of meters in order to attempt detecting an anomaly associated with said meter; and adjusting the detection threshold dynamically as a function of the percentage of meters detected as being associated with an anomaly.

Abstract: A method for monitoring power consumption of an appliance within a space is provided. The method includes obtaining a first set of data indicative of power consumption of the appliance during an interval of time and determining a profile indicative of power consumption of the appliance based, at least in part, on the first set of data. The method includes obtaining a second set of data indicative of power consumption of the appliance subsequent to obtaining the first set of data. The method includes determining whether power consumption of the appliance deviates from the profile based, at least in part, on the second set of data. Furthermore, in response to determining power consumption of the appliance deviates from the profile, the method includes providing a notification indicative of power consumption of the appliance deviating from the profile.

Abstract: A metering system including a utility meter having a processing circuit and a communication module interface. The metering system also includes a communication module electronically coupled to the utility meter via the communication module interface. The communication module interface is configured to transmit information to, and receive information from, the utility meter. The processing circuit of the utility meter includes one or more electronic processors that are configured to receive a first message from the communication, read a header frame of the first message, and determine a message type of the first message based on the header frame. The electronic processors are also configured to verify the first message based on the determined message type, and process the first message based on the determined message type.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system for detecting water usage violations from streamed meter data is described. The system includes a metering analytics system configured to receive a stream of meter data received from sensors in or in proximity with utility meters, the meter data being generated by the sensors and a central event management system for determining the effectiveness of a precipitation aware irrigation system based on a plurality of sequential meter reads in the streamed meter data. The central event management system is configured to receive a notification regarding usage of a precipitation aware irrigation system, identify a meter associated with the notification, receive a precipitation notification indicating precipitation has exceeded a defined threshold in an area specific to the meter, monitor read messages in the streamed meter data to identify a first read message for a watched meter, and determine irrigation usage for the meter based on at least a second read message in the streamed meter data.
