    摘要: An improved molten metal furnace including an enlarged buffer plate of nickel-based superalloy material which seals and separates the furnace burners from the product to be heated. The seal from the buffer plate provides for the creation of a generally inert atmosphere for the bath of molten metal. Additionally, angling the interconnecting passageways between the furnace regions improve the thermal efficiency of the circulating molten metal.

    摘要: Method and plant for pre-heating, transforming and melting a metal charge comprising metal scrap, in an electric arc furnace associated with a tunnel to transport, pre-heat and discharge the scrap. The furnace comprises a hearth and a roof through which the electrodes pass. The method provides that the furnace is weighed at least periodically in order to detect the quantity of discharged scrap present inside the furnace itself, that the temperature of the liquid bath inside the furnace is detected at least periodically and that at least the discharge delivery of the scrap inside the furnace is detected by weighing and is regulated in order to maintain the temperature of the liquid bath around a pre-determined value.

    摘要: Apparatus is provided for the flow control of the flue gas to combustion air ratio in a reversible regenerative heating system of the type comprising a pair of regenerators, a first line 7 for supplying air to the regenerators, a second line 8 for removing flue gas from the regenerators, and valves 9,10 respectively for controlling the flow rate of air in the first line 7 and the flow rate of the flue gas in the second line 8. The apparatus comprises a third line 21 adapted to provide a slave flow of fluid proportional to the flow rate of the flue gas, thermistor type anemometers 17 and 18 for sensing the flow rates of combustion air and fluid and a ratio controller 24 for adjusting the flue gas damper valve 10 in accordance with the flow rates so sensed to maintain the ratio of the flue gas to combustion air at a predetermined ratio.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for preparing a feed mixture, made of several batch components, at one stage in order to feed it into a smelting furnace. The preparation of the batch may include the preheating and drying of the material, the removal of crystal waters and evaporable substances as well as the conduction of the batch into the smelting furnace. According to the invention, a hot inert gas is conducted through a downwards settling batch so that the gas is mixed into the batch as well as possible, but even partial fluidization is prevented. The apparatus of the invention comprises a pretreatment silo (6) which is uniform at the upper part is divided into several sub-silos (7) at the lower part. At the lower part of the sub-silos there are connected ducts (8) wherealong the batch flows into the smelting furnace (9) located below the pretreatment silo (6). In between the sub-silos (7) there is located the gas distribution chamber (34), wherefrom the gases are distributed through the distribution ducts (35) extending to the sub-silos and the gases are discharged at the top (41) of the silo (6). The employed gas is obtained by means of burning the exhaust gases (10) from the smelting furance and by combining them with cleaned circulation gases (25).
