    摘要: In a heat source apparatus in which an electric component having an electrode and an insulator is mounted on a side plate of a combustion box, in a state in which a packing is interposed between a flange portion of the insulator and the side plate, by fastening to the side plate a clamp which overlaps with an outer surface of the flange portion, the packing is prevented from getting spread when compressed, thereby securing good sealing properties.Upper and lower water tubes constituting a part of a water jacket are disposed on a side plate on upper and lower sides of the mounting position of the electrode component. In case the upper and lower water tubes are disposed on an inside surface of the side plate, upper and lower side edge portions of the packing are in contact with those upper and lower swelled-out portions formed in the one-side side plate which are swollen outward for respectively receiving into recesses the upper and lower water tubes; and that, in case the upper and lower water tubes are disposed on an outside surface of the side plate, upper and lower side edge portions of the packing are in contact with the upper and lower water tubes.

    摘要: Technologies are provided for employing an ion flow to control a combustion reaction. A combustion reaction is supported at a burner or fuel source. One or more electrical signals are applied to an ionizer to generate an ion flow having a first polarity. The ion flow is introduced to the combustion reaction or a reactant at a first location, imparting a corresponding charge to the combustion reaction. The first location is at least intermittently upstream with respect to a reaction front of the combustion reaction. One or more of the electrical signals are applied to a first electrode at a second location downstream of the first location, which provokes a response by the combustion reaction according to the applied charge. The combustion reaction is controlled by selection of the one or more electrical signals.

An ignition nozzle is placed in the furnace chamber, a sundries baffle is provided in the furnace chamber below the porous combustion radiant panel and above the ignition nozzle and the ignition needle is set above the porous combustion radiant panel, so the gas for ignition ejected from the ignition nozzle quickly mixes with the air inside the furnace chamber, and the gas-air mixture escapes from fire holes of the porous combustion radiant panel above the ignition nozzle. The gas concentration of the mixed gas is relatively high and suitable for igniting, the main burner can be quickly ignited, there is no black smoke, obviously incomplete combustion, and it brings a high ignition rate.

    摘要: An apparatus for operating a gas valve in a gas-fired heating system includes a solenoid having a pick coil and a hold coil connected to the pick coil and to a thermo-generator. A power supply powers the pick coil to open the gas valve. The thermo-generator powers the hold coil to hold the gas valve open. The apparatus is small and inexpensive compared to systems that use DC-DC converters and/or stepper motors to operate a millivolt valve. A millivolt valve can be operated via power from a heater thermostat, without AC power having to be wired to the heater.

    摘要: Roofing kettle apparatus for heating asphalt includes a wheeled chassis mounting a vat and a heating system for heating the vat. The heating system includes a solenoid operated valve for controlling the flow of fuel gas from a fuel gas source to each of a pair of burner nozzles and a igniter assembly having an outlet adjacent the outlet of a first combustion chamber. An igniter generates a spark to ignite gas discharging from the igniter assembly outlet. A flame sensor adjacent to the first combustion chamber outlet end senses the burning of fuel gas. The igniter assembly has a second outlet adjacent the second combustion chamber outlet end. The ignition of fuel gas discharging from the igniter assembly ignites the gas discharging through the combustion chamber outlets. The burners extend into the combustion chambers. Electric controls include circuitry in the igniter and a temperature controller to energize and deenergize the valve and generate a spark a number of times with a time delay between each energization and deenergization to purge gas in the combustion chambers in the event the flame sensor does not sense a flame after the respective energization and to control the range of temperatures to which the material in the vat is heated.

    摘要: A digital control system, for a gas-fired, forced combustion air heating appliance, controls operation of a combustion air blower and a gas valve as a function of essentially square wave input signals derived from a thermostat, a combustion air proving sensor switch, and a gas valve control relay. When a first input signal from the thermostat demands heat, the control system first checks for the presence of a second input signal (which indicates the status of the combustion air sensor switch) before starting the combustion air blower. If the second input signal indicates that combustion air is being delivered before the combustion air blower has started, the control system immediately halts the ignition sequence. If the combustion air sensor switch is functioning properly, the ignition sequence continues and the control system checks a third input signal to determine the status of the contacts of the gas valve relay. If the third input signal indicates that the relay contacts which power the gas valve are already closed before the gas valve relay coil is energized, the control system halts the ignition sequence by turning off the combustion air blower, causing the combustion air sensor switch to open and shut off power to the gas valve.
