    摘要: The present invention generally relates to the field of combustion technology related to gas turbines. More in particular, the present invention refers to a method for operating a combustion device. Advantageously, a pulsation protective load shedding is avoided by adjusting the parameter ω in case of too high combustion pulsation levels from the standard operation set point. This implies that the dynamic pulsation control logic is activated in case the high frequency pulsation level exceeds a predetermined threshold value and a control unit adjusts the ω, preferably in a stepwise manner, until acceptable and optimum pulsation levels are reached or a maximum reduction of the ω is performed.

    摘要: A method of operating a burner, in particular, a burner of a gas turbine, and a burner configuration include supplying an adjustable burner with fuel through a supply line. The fuel quantity is set by an opening of a control element as a function of a selected output of the burner. A calorific value of the fuel is determined, and the degree of opening is calculated and directly set using the output and the calorific value, resulting in a variable output control that is operationally reliable with respect to perturbations. A controller is connected to the control element having a selectable opening for setting the fuel quantity. In the controller, the degree of opening can be determined as a function of the output, the type of the fuel, and a pressure loss in the fuel supply line, and a corresponding signal can be transmitted to the control element such that the degree of opening is set.

    摘要: A batch-type pyrolysis furnace fired by a main heat source such as a gas burner or an electric heating coil in combination with an afterburner to burn volatiles generated in the furnace's main chamber, is operated to incinerate high-polymer loads smokelessy, yet is effectively safeguarded from explosions. A single thermocouple (throat TC) senses the instantaneous temperature in the throat of the furnace and in cooperation with a programmable controller, maintains a preselected ramp and soak temperature profile over the entire burn cycle. When the temperature required by the profile is exceeded, a single water spray actuated by a signal from the PC lowers the temperature below the profile. The throat TC thus maintains a fire under controlled temperature conditions in the main chamber without an explosion, using a single-stage system. This single-stage control system, for additional safety and redundancy, may include two back-up thermocouples, one in the main chamber (main chamber TC), and, a second (stack TC) in the exhaust stack downstream of the afterburner. The main chamber TC senses the ambient, essentially instantaneous temperature at that location, and actuates the water spray system. The main chamber TC and the stack TC may each also attenuate the output of the main burner and control its on/off operation.

    摘要: A method of automatic combustion control in a combustion system comprising a combustion chamber, combustion means for causing the combustion of fuel in the chamber, a heat exchanger connecting with the combustion chamber, an exhaust passage connected with the heat exchanger, and fuel supply means for supplying fuel to the combustion means, such method comprising measuring the combustion temperature in the combustion chamber and producing a first quantity corresponding in magnitude with the combustion temperature, measuring the exhaust temperature in the exhaust passage and producing a second quantity corresponding in magnitude with the exhaust temperature, producing a summation of the first and second quantities and thereby producing a summation quantity, and varying the supply of air to the combustion means in such manner as to maximize the summation quantity, whereby the combustion efficiency is also maximized.A minor amount of water is mixed with the air in the form of very small water droplets, 100 microns or less in size, to increase the combustion efficiency while controlling the buildup of combustion byproduct contaminants on the internal components of the combustion system.
