Abstract:
A method is provided for cleaning at least a part of a water-steam circuit of a power plant. The method includes introducing a cleaning solution into the part requiring to be cleaned and subsequently draining off the cleaning solution. While the cleaning solution is being drained off or immediately thereafter, steam for flushing is injected via a steam injection device into the part requiring to be cleaned at at least one high point of the part requiring to be cleaned and low-point drains are opened or remain open in the part requiring to be cleaned and steam continues to be injected until steam emerges from the low-point drains and those low-point drains from which steam emerges are closed, and steam continues to be injected until steam has emerged from all low-point drains, upon which the steam injection device is closed and all low-point drains are reopened.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for commissioning steam turbine generator power plants to advance the cleanliness of the complete steam cycle by the conditioned discharge of steam to the plant surface condenser.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for direct contact steam generation for a variety of industrial processes including heavy oil recovery, power generation and pulp and paper applications. The steam generation system consists of a combustor (10) and a steam generator (70) and is constructed to be operable at elevated pressures. The fuel, at least one oxidant and a fluid supply including water are supplied at pressure to the combustor. Flue gas from the combustor (10) is delivered to the direct contact steam generator (70) at pressure, and upon direct contact with water, produces a flue gas stream consisting primarily of steam. This product stream can then be cleansed and used for industrial applications. The combustor (10) can be operated with low grade fuel and low quality water with high solids and hydrocarbon contents. The apparatus and method reduce the environmental footprint by reducing air emission, concentrating CO2 to enable capture and reducing clean water requirements. The removal of solids from the combustor (10) at its second end (62) as well as at the second end of the steam generator (70) as at (78), the use of water injection-type steam quality control and a steam feedback inlet (46) to the combustor (10) from the steam generator (70) enhance the efficiency of the apparatus.
Abstract:
A method of and apparatus for cleaning a surface, such as a wall of a waste boiler of a Kivcet furnace, are described. The invention comprises suspending a pair of spaced apart cables adjacent a surface to be cleaned, attaching ends of the rail to respective ones of the cables with equal lengths of cable between the rail and the roof, the rail being reversibly moveable up and down the surface. A carriage has a nozzle assembly, operative to emit a jet of water, with the carriage reversibly moveable along the rail. The rail is moved from one of a top and bottom of the surface to another of the top and bottom of the surface, and the carriage is moved from one side of the rail to another, cleaning the surface as it moves. The foregoing steps are repeated for each remaining uncleaned surface.
Abstract:
A method of cleaning a boiler of a power generation plant is performed removing an oil component remaining in an interior of the boiler before a steady operation of the power generation plant. For such cleaning, a surface active agent is used as a cleaning liquid, and a cleaning liquid tank, into which the cleaning liquid is stored, is temporarily located, which is connected to a boiler feed water pipe through a cleaning liquid injection pipe and a cleaning liquid injection pump, by which the cleaning liquid is injected into the boiler feed water pipe in a controlled manner to feed the cleaning liquid into the boiler.
