    摘要: A flange apparatus operable to connect the discharge of a plumbing fixture to the waste drain pipe of a drainage system. In an embodiment, the flange apparatus includes a flange and a flexible sleeve disposed through a central opening of the flange, in which a first portion of the flexible sleeve is seated on the flange. The flange further includes arm portions, each having an aperture defined therethrough. The surfaces of the apertures are substantially smooth, and the apertures are operable to receive fasteners. In an embodiment, the arm portions may be made of threadable materials, and the fasteners may have thread-forming fasteners such that threads are formed in the arm portions when the thread-forming fastener is received in the aperture of the arm portions.

    摘要: Provided are elastomeric expansion joints for coupling tubes and, particularly, elastomeric expansion joint used for absorbing axial, lateral, angular movements and vibrations to which the tubes are subjected, or when these tubes are coupled to pieces of equipment that operate under varied conditions of temperature and pressure and that result in movement of the tubing. The elastomeric expansion joint includes first and second end portions, a moveable central region, and first and second intersection portions that are respectively defined between each of the end portions and the central region. The intersection portions and the end portions define a reinforcement section. At least one wiring support member is positioned between the first and the second substrates, and the wiring support member is positioned in the reinforcement section and supports wirings. The wiring support member reinforces the elastomeric expansion joint, so that the elastomeric expansion joint can stand higher pressures.

A tubular expansion joint member, formed of rubber-impregnated fabric plies 16a, 16b and having end flanges 10 joined by cylindrical portions 14 to an annular arched portion 12, incorporates reinforcing rings 22 embedded in said cylindrical portions, each of said rings being formed by a tight winding of glass tape, cord, roving or other elongate glass material. As shown, the rings, preferably of rectangular cross-section, are formed by a spirally-wound glass tape, which is coated with unifying adhesive such as an elastomer, epoxy or polyester cement, and are interspaced by annular blocks 24 of solid rubber or blocks of spirally-wound rubber-impregnated fabric tape. Said blocks oppose axial movement of the rings when the joint is under pressure in use. In modified embodiments, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the reinforcing rings are formed by a winding of adhesive-impregnated or coated glass cord, yarn or roving. In the latter embodiment, only one ring is incorporated either side of the arched portion and each ring is of tapered cross-section. In both the embodiments of Figs. 3 and 4, the innermost corners 26a or 30a of the rings are rounded. In a final embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), a single ring 38 of spirally wound broad glass tape extends each side of the arched portion substantially the length of the cylindrical portions 14. The expansion joint member is made by building up the different layers on a rotating, shaped mandrel, the rubber thereafter being cured.

    摘要: An expansion joint spring clip can eliminate flutter, pulsations and reverse bending on non-metallic fabric flue duct expansion joints. The expansion joint spring clip can hold the expansion joint in a fixed arch such that it can still perform its function with regard to accommodating the ducting system movements. The expansion joint spring clip allows the entire width of the non-metallic expansion joint to retain its position during start-ups, downloading and during full or partial boiler, kiln, furnace loads and the like. The expansion joint spring clip can be installed in the existing geometry of an expansion joint by producing an arch while not damaging the expansion joint after being installed. The expansion joint can still accommodate axial and limited lateral movements, allowing the expansion joint to perform its function.
