摘要： Adapter for a flue gas outlet with a first end (2), a second end (4), and a central passageway (6) extending there between. The second end (4) has at least two interconnected cylinder shaped walls (8, 10, 12) having different internal diameters (d1, d2, d3), each cylinder shaped wall (8,10,12) being arranged for sealed engagement with a corresponding pipe to be inserted into the adapter (1). An internal diameter of the at least two cylinder shaped walls (8,10,12) decreases with increased insertion depth (h) as measured from the second end (4) toward the first end (2). The at least two cylinder shaped walls (8,10,12) are eccentrically disposed and mutually tangent in a longitudinal direction of the adapter (1). The adapter (1) further has a pipe securing member (14) circumferentially disposed at the second end (4).

Furthermore, a drop-off prevention mechanism of the pipe has a wide sliding piece 12, and an arc 17 with a curvature adapted to the curvature of the pipe is formed on the lower surface of the sliding piece 12, to stabilize its sliding.

The male pipe member comprises an inner flue pipe having a compressible gasket surrounding the inner flue pipe proximate an external end of the inner flue pipe, an external venting pipe surrounding the inner flue pipe and brackets linking the inner flue pipe to the external venting pipe. The female pipe member receives the male pipe member and comprises an inner flue sleeve being sized larger than the outer diameter of the flue pipe at an outer end of the sleeve. The inner flue sleeve remains in circumferential contact with the compressible gasket when the male pipe member is inserted into the female pipe member.

The flexible seal further includes a filter element positioned adjacent to one of the end faces and extending in the longitudinal dimension. The filter element is attached to the insulating body and the assembly may be placed with other seal assemblies in endwise fashion around the periphery of a pair of opposing flue members. A further external pressure seal is provided, mounted to each end of the flue elements.

The primary portion (10A) of the interconnect (10) incorporates a support frame (30) that is suspended from the damper frame (12) by a plurality of non-extendable hangers (39, 40, 41 and 42). Wholly separate and distinct means (83 and 84) are provided to support the connector duct (82) and sealing means (80, 94) from the support frame (30) in order to enhance the fore and aft as well as the lateral adjustability of the primary portion (10A) of the system. Slidable collar means (115) provide selective connection with the vent (75) of the insert (11). A secondary portion (10B) communicates through the smoke chamber (26) between the primary portion (10A) and the flue (22). An adaptor boot (200) seals around the mouth (201) of the flue (22) and converts the cross-sectional dimension of the flue to the cross-sectional dimension of the duct system (202, 251, 258) that extends between the adaptor boot (200) and the damper frame (12). Means (223, 224) are provided to manipulate the adaptor boot (200) into operative position and thereafter wedge against the shelf (25) forming the floor of the smoke chamber (26) to support the secondary portion (10B) in its operative position.
