Abstract: A torque converter assembly is disclosed that includes a front cover, a clutch plate assembly, a pump cover, and a plate including a base body extending in an axial direction with a first flange on a first end and a second flange on a second end. The first flange can define a friction face configured to engage with a corresponding surface of the clutch plate assembly, and the second flange can define at least one opening configured to receive a fastening element. In one aspect, the plate functions or serves as a reaction plate for the clutch assembly, and also serves as a connection or lug for a flex plate or other component.

Abstract: A lock-up device includes an input rotary member into which the torque is inputted and an output rotary member rotatable relatively to the input rotary member in a predetermined torsion angular range. The output rotary member outputs the torque. The lock-up device also includes a plurality of first coil springs coupling the input rotary member and the output rotary member. The plurality of first coil springs are actuated in an entirety of the torsion angular range. The lock-up device further includes a plurality of second coil spring pairs or sets on either an outer peripheral side or an inner peripheral side of the plurality of first coil springs so as to be actuated in parallel to the plurality of first coil springs. The two or more coil springs have different magnitudes of stiffness and are actuated in series.

Abstract: A lockup apparatus for a torque converter, which has a drive plate, a driven plate and damper springs connecting the drive plate and the driven plate in a rotating direction, is provided. Each damper spring has a pair of divided parts. An equalizer plate as an intermediate member is arranged so as to slide rotatably on bearing parts of the drive plate, and supporting parts fixed to the equalizer plate are arranged between the divided parts of the damper springs. A bearing part of the drive plate has an outer peripheral surface having an arc shape with a center or a curvature which is offset from a center of an arc shape of an inner peripheral surface of the equalizer plate.

The thrust washer includes an inner circumferential surface, an outer circumferential surface and a first axial surface extending from the inner circumferential surface to the outer circumferential surface. Abstract: The power transmission device transmits power from an engine to a transmission and includes an input-side rotary member, an output-side rotary member, a first elastic member, a float member and a damper device. The damper device is mounted to the float member and includes an inertia member that is rotatable relative to the float member.

Abstract: A damper assembly for a torque converter is provided. The damper assembly includes a first cover plate including a spring retainer at a radial outer end of the first cover plate supporting springs; and a second cover plate including, at a radial outer end thereof, tabs for the springs, the tabs being in circumferential spaces between the springs The spring retainer and the tabs are fixed together inside the spring retainer. A method of forming a damper assembly is also provided. The method includes fixing a spring retainer at a radial outer end of a first cover plate to tabs at a radially outer end of a second cover plate inside the spring retainer. The tabs are in circumferential spaces between springs retained by the spring retainer.
