Abstract: A bearing device includes a crankshaft having a plurality of journal portions, main bearings for supporting the crankshaft, and a bearing housing. The plurality of journal portions includes a first journal portion with a lubricating oil passage and a second journal portion without the lubricating oil passage. The first and second journal portions are supported by the first and second main bearings. The bearing housing includes an upper-side housing and a lower-side housing. A length of a crush relief of at least an upper-side halved bearing of the second main bearing is larger than a length of the crush relief of each of upper-side and lower-side halved bearings of the first main bearing.

Abstract: Various embodiments of a crankshaft assembly with an insert are disclosed. The crankshaft assembly for an air compressor comprises a crankshaft with a first segment; a second segment having an outside diameter and a cavity extending into a distal end. The cavity comprises a first portion having a first inner diameter; and a second portion having a second inner diameter, wherein the second inner diameter is less than the first inner diameter. The crankshaft includes a linear passage in the second segment, wherein the linear passage does not intersect the cavity. The crankshaft assembly includes an insert having a first end with a first insert diameter and a second end having a second insert diameter, wherein the insert is sized to be matingly engaged in the cavity.

Abstract: The present invention refers to a crankshaft (1) for an alternative compressor comprising a main shaft (21) connected to an eccentric pin (2) by means of a peripheral flange (3) containing a lubricating hole (24) extending through said eccentric pin (2) and through at least part of the body of main shaft (21), one of the edges of said hole (24) being on the cylindrical surface (2a) of said eccentric pin (2). With this type of hole, the present invention allows for the use of shafts having extremely low diameters (and, as result, with low viscous loss), even with high eccentricities, whereby an excellent capacity of oil pumping and mechanical strength is maintained.
