摘要： A method and apparatus for forming a joint between a first composite structure and a second composite structure. A number of tab sections may be formed at an end of the first composite structure. The first composite structure may comprise a first skin, a second skin, and a core located between the first skin and the second skin. A tab section in the number of tab sections may comprise a first skin section of the first skin, a second skin section of the second skin, and a core section of the core. A portion of the core section may be removed from each tab section to form a number of tabs at the end of the first composite structure. The first composite structure may be attached to the second composite structure using the number of tabs to form the joint between the first composite structure and the second composite structure.

摘要： A method of producing a fastener free cabinet assembly. An embodiment of the method includes selecting at least two cross rails and at least two stiles. Each rail has a set of projecting tenons formed at opposite ends of the rail. Each tenon further has a contact surface defined at least in part by a first side surface, an end surface, and a second side surface. Each stile has an edge forming a groove shaped mortise, wherein the mortise forms a contact surface to engage with one of the tenons to define a bond gap. The embodiment also includes applying a predetermined amount of adhesive to each set of tenons, and engaging the at least two cross rails and the at least two stiles to form the cabinet assembly. The predetermined amount of adhesive does not exceed a volume of the bond gap.

A mating array of projections and cavities is formed by the apparatus at an end of another wood product to be secured to the first wood product and the two ends are glued and joined at adhesive application and joining stations.

摘要： A modularly constructed countertop generally of plastic solid surfacing material and including connectable modular countertop panel sections including various lengths of straight sections, and corner sections having thickened finished front edges. Included is an error resistant arrangement of adhesively seaming one countertop panel section to another utilizing easily aligned edges having registration grooves for aligning the top surfaces of adjacent sections flush with each other during adhesive seaming. Included for clamping purposes during the adhesive seaming are rigid elongated strips each having transverse grooves located across a bottom surface. Top surfaces of the strips are glued to the bottom surface of the countertop panel sections adjacent and parallel the edges to be abutted and adhesively seamed. Linearly extendable and retractable springs with catches (rings) on the terminal ends thereof are placed within the transverse grooves spanning between two adjacent strips wherein the springs temporarily serve as continuous tension clamps against the seam while liquid adhesive within the seam cures.
