Abstract: A servo valve comprising first and second nozzles and first and second piezoelectric actuators arranged to control fluid flow through the first and second nozzles respectively. A first fluid flow path is defined between the first nozzle and the first piezoelectric actuator and a second fluid flow path is defined between the second nozzle and the second piezoelectric actuator. The first and second piezoelectric actuators are arranged such that applying a voltage to the first and second piezoelectric actuators causes a change in dimension thereof, which acts to open or restrict said first and second fluid flow paths respectively.

Abstract: An improved torque motor for use in a servovalve is described herein, comprising: first and second pole pieces, having a C-shaped cross-section comprising a ring shaped section extending in a first plane with first and second portions extending perpendicularly away from said plane and inwards towards an armature plate. The perpendicularly extending portions are detachable from and attachable to the ring-shaped section of the pole pieces to allow for easier calibration and adjustment of the air gaps between the pole pieces and the armature plate positioned there between.

Abstract: A spool assembly for a second stage of a servo valve comprises a spool having an axis (L) and an opening for a feedback member provided in a central region of the spool extending perpendicular to the axis. An adjustable joint is provided within the spool for securing a feedback member relative to the spool, comprising first and second jaw arms being displaceable relative to each other along the axis of the spool. The jaw arms have opposing clamping surfaces, wherein the clamping surfaces are arranged to be drawn towards each other as the jaw arms are drawn away from each other, such that a feedback member can be clamped between the opposed clamping surfaces of the jaw arms and thereby secured relative to the spool.

Abstract: A pendulum-type electromagnetic actuator is provided. The actuator includes a curved stationary member comprising a stationary core and a winding wound about the stationary core. A first moving member includes a first moving core and a first plurality of permanent magnets attached to the first moving core, the first moving member is curved and positioned on a first side of the stationary member. A second moving member includes a second moving core and a second plurality of permanent magnets attached to the second moving core, the second moving member is curved and position on a second side of the stationary member, the second side opposite the first side. The actuator further includes a pivot and a pivot connector connecting at least one of the first moving member and the second moving member to the pivot such that the curved moving member rotates about the pivot.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for operation of a position regulator for control of a pneumatic drive for an actuating member in a process installation.
