摘要: A two-stroke uniflow engine is provided with: a cylinder; a piston; an exhaust valve that is opened and closed in order to discharge exhaust gas that is generated inside the cylinder; a scavenging port that takes active gas into the interior of the cylinder in accordance with a sliding movement of the piston; a fuel injection port that is provided in the internal circumferential surface of the cylinder; a fuel injection valve that injects fuel gas into the fuel injection port; and a fuel injection control unit that executes control of the injection of the fuel gas in the fuel injection valve, wherein the fuel injection control unit decides at least one of an injection pressure and an injection time of the fuel injection valve based on a change in pressure inside the cylinder that is caused by a reciprocating movement of the piston.

摘要: A two-stroke internal combustion engine provided with a masking wall (8a, 40b) which is disposed between an intake valve (6) and exhaust valve (7) disposed on a cylinder head inner wall surface (3a) and which closes the opening between the peripheral edge of the intake valve (6) and valve seat (9) positioned at the exhaust valve (7) side, over the period of full opening of the intake valve (6), and a fuel injection valve (14, 42) which is disposed at the peripheral side portion of the cylinder head inner wall surface (3a) at the intake valve (6) side, wherein the fuel injection from the fuel injection valve (14, 42) to the cylinder (1) is started when the intake valve (6) opens. By this, it is possible to easily ignite the fuel and to stabilize the combustion after ignition.

摘要: An internal combustion engine and means to operate the same to produce minimal quantities and concentrations of oxides of nitrogen (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO) and unburned hydrocarbons (HC). The engine is operated with a lean air/fuel mixture at both low and high load conditions, thereby minimizing said emissions. Low load operation on lean mixtures is made possible by means and methods for maintaining at a suitably low numerical value the residual fraction which is defined as the ratio of gases in a cylinder from a previous cycle and the total gases in the cylinder for the next cycle (said gases from a previous cycle plus new mixture). Said means may comprise apparatus to shorten the duration of intake and exhaust valve overlap, or of opening the engine throttle wider than normal and retarding the ignition to reduce the engine speed at low loads. Means is preferably provided wherein the fuel in the air/fuel mixture is well-vaporized and the mixture is uniform and homogeneous. Some of such means may comprise vaporizing means whereby fuel film adherent to the wall of the engine's induction means is vaporized by heat, or is collected and discharged into the air stream.

摘要: A control system for a compression-ignition engine is provided, which includes an engine having a combustion chamber formed by a cylinder, a piston and a cylinder head, an injector, a spark plug, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) device configured to introduce into the combustion chamber a portion of burned gas generated inside the combustion chamber as EGR gas, an EGR controller configured to change an EGR ratio, the EGR controller changing the EGR ratio so that a compression start temperature of the combustion chamber rises as an engine load is reduced, and a controller connected to the injector and the spark plug to control them. The controller includes a processor configured to execute a combustion controlling module to output an instruction to the spark plug so as to ignite at an ignition timing after the EGR ratio adjustment so that partial compression-ignition combustion is performed.

摘要: A combustion method for an internal combustion engine which prevents the occurrence of engine knock and improves fuel consumption and economy, by spray injecting part of the fuel used in one cycle into a combustion chamber, performing preliminary combustion of a diluted air-fuel mixture below combustible limits at a temperature lower than the self-igniting temperature of the fuel, then injecting the remaining fuel into the combustion chamber, and performing main combustion by flame propagation using spark plugs as ignition sources. Accordingly, the combustion method for an internal combustion engine of the present invention can attain stable combustion even at high air-fuel ratios and makes high compression ratios possible.

摘要: A spark ignited Otto cycle type engine have a fixed compression ratio which is supplied with a mixture of air and fuel having an octane number lower than that which would normally be appropriate for the compression ratio. The engine operates in a range below a predetermined high load without spontaneous combustion of the fuel-air mixture but will be susceptible to spontaneous combustion when operated above the predetermined high load. The engine includes means for controlling combustion of the fuel-air mixture when operating above the predetermined high load in a manner to decrease the efficiency of the engine and to prevent spontaneous combustion which would otherwise occur.

摘要: A two-stroke internal combustion engine achieves high performance levels by using an innovatively timed sequence of injecting and igniting fuel and oxidant. The operating cycle of the engine does not utilize a compression process. This permits the injection of fuel and oxidant to be coordinated with the initiation of the combustion process in such a way that the engine achieves high efficiency and provides high torque, while at the same time producing low thermal loading of engine components and low levels of engine noise and vibration.
