    摘要: A latch (10) is usable to selectively hold a closure member such as a door (188) in a closed position. The latch includes a body (12) which has a manually engageable handle (18) on a front side thereof. A shank (30) is in rotationally movable connection with the handle. The shank extends through the body and into an indexing cam bore (58) on the back side of the body. The shank is both axially and rotationally movable about a cam bore axis (62). An indexing cam (88) is connected to the shank. The shank is in operative connection with a striker (102). The striker is rotationally movable responsive to rotation of the handle between a latched position and unlatched position when the shank is in a second axial position. When the shank is in a first axial position, the shank is held in a fixed rotational position by the indexing cam, and the striker is held in the latched position. A cam bolt (164) is movably engageable with the striker to hold the striker in the latched position. The cam bolt is in operative connection with a lock cylinder (142). The lock cylinder is rotatable in engagement with a correct key to selectively position the cam bolt.

    摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to embodiments of a locking mechanism having a door with an interior facing surface and an exterior facing surface, a handle assembly comprising a handle that is selectively repositionable between a locked handle position and an unlocked and latched handle position, an engagement bolt coupled to the handle assembly and slidably mounted to the interior facing surface of the door, a biasing member coupled to the engagement bolt, wherein the biasing member applies a force to the engagement bolt biasing the engagement bolt in an inward direction, and a lock with a lock housing and a locking bolt that is selectively repositionable between a locked position to inhibit translation of the engagement bolt and an unlocked position to allow translation of the engagement bolt. The handle is biased toward the unlocked and latched handle position with the locking bolt in the unlocked position.

    摘要: An animal-resistant latching system for inhibiting animals from accessing food and food containing refuse within containers. The device is composed of an access panel containing an opening to which is secured at least one latching members, a cam assembly, a cover, and a bracket. The latching members are positioned so as to inhibit access to the container when the member is in the latched position and allow access to the container when the member is in the unlatched position. The cam assembly communicates with the latching members so as to move the members between the latched and unlatched positions. The cover and bracket are dimensioned and positioned on the access panel in a predetermined manner so as allow human hands access to the cam assembly and unlatch the container while simultaneously inhibiting such access by animals.

    摘要: An animal-resistant system for inhibiting access to refuse containers by animals is disclosed. The system comprises at least one latch mechanism, at least one actuation member, at least one shroud member, and a cover defining an opening which permits access to the actuation member. The actuation member communicates with the latch mechanism so as to move the latch mechanism between the latched and unlatched positions. In the latched position, the latch mechanism secures the container lid to the container base, substantially inhibiting access to the container. The access hole and actuation member are dimensioned and positioned on the container in a selected manner so as allow human hands access to the actuation member and unlatch the container while simultaneously inhibiting such access by animals. The shrouds are further configured to inhibit forcible entry into the container when the system is latched.
