Abstract: A bar latch including a top portion including and inner and outer surface, a latch retaining aperture disposed in a fore end of the top portion and extending between the inner and outer surface, a first side portion connected to the top portion at a first angle relative to the top portion, where the first side portion includes a first arm extending beyond an aft end of the top portion, and a second side portion connected to the top portion at a second angle relative to the top portion and substantially equal but opposite to the first angle, where the second side portion includes a second arm that extends beyond the aft end of the top portion, wherein an inner surface of the first side portion, an inner surface of the second side portion, and the inner surface of the top portion collectively form a channel extending along the inner surface of the top portion, and wherein the bar latch is configured to be rotatably coupled to a door frame, the bar latch rotatable relative to the door frame between an open and a closed position.

Abstract: An electronic straight shackle lock apparatus and system. Aspects of the present disclosure provide for a keyless, electronic straight shackle lock that provides a high level of security at a relatively low cost and without any opening for a physical mechanical key. Certain embodiments provide for an easy-to-use and compact adapter for a keyless, electronic straight shackle lock and the ability to manually override the electronic lock. Certain benefits and advantages of the present disclosure include a compact and flexible locking system that can be installed on many different enclosures and doors that can be locked and unlocked using an electronic device via a wireless signal.

Abstract: A security seal includes a molded one piece body and a cover disc. The body has a cylindrical chamber for receiving the disc. A locking recess is formed in the body in communication with the chamber and defined in part by a locking shoulder. The cover is secured to the body in the chamber to enclose the locking recess. The disc is separated from the body when enclosing the chamber. A rotatable arm is attached to an extension member extending from the body via a hinge. The free end of the arm has an arrow shaped locking element attached that engages the recess locking shoulder when inserted into the recess. The locking element has a resilient tang member that is compressed by the locking shoulder and which tang member returns to its acquiescent state when fully inserted into the recess thereby locking the tang member in the recess. The cover has posts that extend through mating bores in the body, the protruding ends of the posts are deformed to preclude withdrawal of the posts from the bores to thereby lock the cover to the body.

Abstract: An improved hasp seal lock assembly includes a base member that is attached via a hinge to a cover member. The cover member can be rotated approximately 180° from a fully “closed” position, which is when it overlays a latch and seal, to a fully “open” position. The base member and the cover member each have a plurality of apertures defined in adjacent side walls that allow the horizontal latch arm to extend through the assembly. The base member and the cover member also include a second plurality of cooperating apertures whereby the base member and the cover member may be locked together by use of a padlock. In the preferred embodiment, each cover side wall includes a tab and tab-receiving apertures are defined within the base member. The tabs require that the cover be lifted vertically prior to rotation of the cover member about the base member.

Abstract: A security latch device is provided. The device includes a bracket for being attached to a structure and having an outwardly extending flange having a lock pin slot defined therein, a hinged assembly defining a first hinged portion for being attached to the structure and a second hinged portion for being cooperatively engaged with the bracket, the second hinged portion defining a slot for allowing pass-through of the outwardly extending flange of the bracket, and a cup for attaching to the second portion of the hinged assembly and defining a cavity therein and an aperture therethrough that is in general alignment with the lock pin slot of the bracket so that the lock pin is configured for being received in the cavity and extending through the aperture of the cup and the lock pin slot of the bracket for securing the hinged assembly to the bracket.

Abstract: A closure fastener comprising a hasp and a cooperating staple. The hasp is slidably engageable with a mount and the staple is slidably engageable with another mount. Upon coupling the hasp and the staple and applying a lock thereto, the hasp and the staple are captively retained such that the two are prevented from disengaging from their respective mounts. Alternatively, the hasp and the staple are provided with a hook and the mounts each include a biasing mechanism to bias the hooks into engagement with their respective mounts. In this arrangement, the hasp and the staple must each be intentionally released from their respective mounts. In each embodiment, a stop mechanism is provided to limit the travel of tongue and the base through their respective mounts. The hasp and staple can be formed made from sheet metal blanks. The mount for the staple and hasp can be formed as a universal mount from a zigzag shaped sheet metal blank. The staple can be formed from a U-shaped sheet metal blank. All the parts of the closure fastener can be stamped or cast from plastic or metal or forged from metallic material.

Abstract: A double opening gate latch for single and double gates and capable of being unlocked and opened from either side thereof. First and second latch brackets are fixed to opposite ones of a gate and fence assembly or a double gate assembly, the latch brackets being positioned on opposite sides from one another. A latch bar is provided on one side of the gate assembly and is positioned for registry with a latch bracket. A pivotal latch member extends through the gate or fence assembly and includes a part that is pivotal into latching registry with the other latch bracket. The pivotal latch member is positionable in locking and unlocking relationship with the latch bar. The latch apparatus permits the gate to be unlatched from either side thereof and also permits the gate to be securely locked on either or both sides thereof.
