Abstract:
A device for securing a roof tile crown or cap to a roof ridge or roof hip is described. The roof tile crown support can be easily and quickly secured to an existing roofing structure. The device contains a main body defined by a plurality of opposing side walls, a top wall, and a pair of leg plate support structures, attached or integrally formed to each of the opposing side walls. Within the interior region of the roof tile crown support, a support structure is secured therein. To aid in shipping, a plurality of like-shaped roof tile crown support units can be adapted to nest within other like shaped roof tile crown supports.
Abstract:
An assemblage of sheet metal roof covering pieces is utilized in a novel process to recover and stiffen a deteriorated roof without the necessity for extensive removal of the original roof covering, the deteriorated roof structure further stiffened by spaced stiffening ribs that also serve to fix in interlocked engagement the sheet metal roof covering pieces. Included in the assemblage are interlocking valley pans that are sequentially compressed between the ribs and then fastened with the valley pans then bridged by curved sheet metal caps that are also interlocked. The resulting structure has the pleasing appearance of an Oriental tile roof.
Abstract:
A panel structure comprised of a plurality of side-by-side segments formed to present the configuration and aesthetics of hand-split wooden shakes for a building roof and/or wall, and trimming and finishing accessories therefor similarly formed to simulate wooden shake structures.
Abstract:
An asphalt roof shingle sealing device comprised of a single flat non-perforated blank sheet of metal or rigid plastic, preferably aluminum or copper and having a width, length and thickness selected to substantially span the beneath the width and length of a shingle to be repaired having at least one hole, tear or puncture therein and includes a cutting edge for cutting through adhesive between shingles to be repaired and securing elements for securing the blank sheet in place beneath the shingle to be repaired thereby preventing any water passing through the hole or puncture in the shingle, or allowing any water passing through the hole or puncture to be collected by the blank sheet and drained onto a shingle below the repaired shingle.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a building cladding for inclined surfaces such as for a sloped roof. More specifically, this invention relates to a building cladding that is passively responsive to sun elevation angles, is multi-functional, and is substantially uniformly ornamental when viewed from common viewing positions. The cladding is predominantly comprised of pairs of substantially horizontal and vertical surfaces extended horizontally and repeated vertically or along the incline of the building substrate. Substantially horizontal surfaces may be adapted for absorbing solar energy, reflecting solar energy, generating electricity from solar energy, converting solar energy into another form of energy, and or ornamentally matching substantially vertical surfaces.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a roof cladding element, which roof cladding element has been manufactured of profiled plate material and which roof cladding elements are adjacently and in succession mountable such that the edges of a roof cladding element will be placed a distance overlapping with the edges of adjacent roof cladding elements. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing roof cladding elements in which method a plate material in strip form is formed into profiled roof cladding element strip with a forming device and in which method a finished formed roof cladding element strip is cut with a cutting device at even intervals into roof cladding elements. Characteristic to a roof cladding element in accordance with the invention is the fact that to at least one corner of a roof cladding element a recess reaching at least partly under the lower surface of the part of the roof cladding element surrounding the corner has been formed. Characteristic to the method in accordance with the invention is the fact that to at least one corner of the roof cladding element a recess reaching at least partly under the lower surface of the part of the roof cladding element surrounding the corner is formed with a forming device.
