摘要: Aqueous coating compositions for coating fiber-based products are provided that comprise an acrylic latex in an amount of from about 48 wt % to about 80 wt % based on dry solids content of the composition; talc in an amount of from about 20 wt % to about 50 wt % based on dry solids content of the composition; and chemically functionalized, cold water soluble, anionic starch in a dry solids content of from about 0.1 wt % to about 10 wt %, wherein the aqueous composition has a total dry solids content of from about 30 to about 70 wt % based on the weight of the total composition. Methods of preparing the coating composition, fiber-based products comprising a coating of the coating composition, and methods of preparing these coated fiber-based product are also described.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide base paper for vapor deposition paper that can provide vapor deposition paper with excellent barrier properties. The base paper for vapor deposition paper according to the present invention includes: a paper substrate; and a clay coat layer and a resin layer in this order on at least one surface of the paper substrate. A surface of the resin laver has a wetting tension of 50 mN/n or more as measured in conformity with JIS K 6768:1999 and a print-surf surface roughness of 2.5 μm or less as measured in conformity with JIS P 8151:2004.

摘要: The present invention provides water-based coatings that provide liquid resistance when applied to various substrates. The coatings are particularly suitable for cellulosic substrates such as paper or paper board. In addition to liquid resistance, the coatings have good heat sealability, and are resistant to roll blocking. Preferably, the coatings are recyclable and/or repulpable with the substrates to which they are applied. The coating compositions comprise one or more polymer binders, and one or more particles. Preferably, at least one polymer binder has a glass transition temperature (Tg) less than 10° C. Preferably, at least one polymer binder has a heat seal onset temperature of less than 200° C. Preferably, at least one particle has a mean particle size greater than 4 μm. It is also preferable that the particles have a melting point greater than 60° C.

摘要: A fire-resistant retail product packaging, such as sleeves, pouches, wraps, and the like, that is capable of containing fires of high intensity for products such as lithium-ion batteries. The fire-resistant paper comprises Kraft paper with a preferred eight of 40 to 60 pounds/3,000 ft2, and a fire-resistant ink applied to each side of the Kraft paper. The fire-resistant ink includes an acrylic resin, a dispersant, and a boron compound, and optionally, talc and a molybdate compound. When heated, the fire-resistant ink preferably converts the Kraft paper into a non-combustible and heat shielding substance.

摘要: Coating compositions are disclosed that can be applied to at least a food-facing surface of a molded fiber container to make the coated container suitable for applications involving long term storage of a dry or frozen food item combined with short term contact with the food item in a liquid or moist state. The coating compositions include carboxylated polyvinyl alcohol copolymer and a crosslinking resin that is epichlorohydrin-based and/or azetidinium-functionalized. The compositions can also include clay particles or other suitable fillers. After crosslinking and drying, the compositions form a thermoset barrier coating in which the polyvinyl alcohol is bonded to the crosslinker by a plurality of function groups including ester functional groups.

The photographic paper is useful for preparing ‘non-noisy’ photobooks.

摘要: A decorative paper layer may include a base paper layer, an inkjet receiver coating and a pattern formed thereon by digitally applying inks from a set of a plurality of differently colored inks. At least one of the inks may include color pigments having an average particle diameter larger than 150. The inkjet receiver coating may include silica pigments, in which the silica particles are particles of precipitated silica and/or silica gel and/or have an average particle size which is at least 4 times larger than the average particle diameter of the color pigments and/or have an average particle size of 1 to 40 micrometer.
