    摘要： An iron is provided including a soleplate having a first surface configured to press a fabric and deliver wrinkle releasing steam, a first plurality of steam exit holes formed in the soleplate, each of the first plurality of steam exit holes connected to an associated first steam channel formed in the first surface and connected to a centrally disposed steam channel formed in the first surface, a second plurality of steam exit holes formed in the soleplate connected to an associated second steam channel formed in the first surface connected to the centrally disposed steam channel, each of the second plurality of steam exit holes disposed symmetrically to an associated one of the first plurality of steam exit holes on an opposite side of the centrally disposed steam channel, and the centrally disposed steam channel extending substantially an elongated length of the soleplate, The soleplate further includes dimples over the majority of the soleplate not covered by the steam channels.

    摘要： The invention relates to a coated ironing plate comprising an ironing plate (4); and a composite coating (7) applied over the ironing plate (4). The composite coating comprises a dielectric layer (5) over the ironing plate (4) that has a surface resistance more than 109 ohms; and a static dissipative layer (6) for being in contact with a garment or fabric during ironing disposed on the dielectric layer (5) and in direct contact with the ironing plate (4). The static dissipative layer (6) has a surface resistance less than 109 ohms so that the charges generated on the static dissipative layer (6) during ironing are more easily dissipated from the static dissipative layer (6) through the ironing plate (4) compared to the dissipation of charges from the dielectric layer (5) through the ironing plate (4) in the absence of said static dissipative layer (6).

    摘要： The present application relates to steam iron (1). The steam iron (1) comprises a sole plate (3). The sole plate (3) has a steam channel (6) for the passage of steam, an ironing surface (10), vents (4) for the passage of steam between the steam channel (6) and the ironing surface (10), an aperture (9) extending between the steam channel (6) and the ironing surface (10), and a fragrance cartridge (7) being received in the aperture (9) such that it extends into the steam channel (6) to diffuse fragrance in the steam channel (6). The aperture (9) secures the fragrance cartridge (10) in the sole plate (3) such that fragrance cartridge (7) is flush with the ironing surface (10). The present invention also relates to a fragrance cartridge (7) and to a method of imparting a fragrance to steam produced by a steam iron (1).

The iron may include a first adjustable wing and a second adjustable wing joined to a pivoting hub, such that the adjustable wings are configured to pivot about the hub with respect to each other. The iron may include a heating plate connected to at least the first adjustable wing. At least a portion of each adjustable wing may be configured to rotate between a detailing position and an ironing position. In the detailing position, the portions of each adjustable wing may be substantially parallel, such that the adjustable wings are substantially opposing one another and may be configured to receive an article therebetween for ironing. In the ironing position, the portions of each adjustable wing may be substantially coplanar and may be configured to engage a same side of a surface of an article for ironing.
