Abstract:
The disclosure relates to produce wash products including a dispenser with a liquid retaining container and a foam dispenser head and a liquid produce wash present in the liquid retaining container, wherein the foam dispenser head is fluidly connected to the liquid produce wash, and wherein the liquid produce wash includes a natural oil or a component thereof, a fatty acid, an antioxidant, a surfactant, an alkali metal hydroxide, glycerin, water, and, optionally, a preservative. In some aspects, the foam dispenser head includes an air chamber and a liquid chamber fluidly connected to the liquid retaining container; when the foam dispenser head is activated by pumping or another means, air and the liquid produce wash are dispensed simultaneously as a foam. Also disclosed are methods of dispensing a produce wash, methods of using the disclosed produce washes to wash a piece of firm produce, and liquid produce washes.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods for cleaning and decontaminating animal carcasses are disclosed. The compositions comprise a mud ball remover having a thioglycolate salt and a base and an antimicrobial agent effective to remove mud balls and reduce microbial contamination of a hide surface at ambient temperatures. The methods comprise cleaning and decontaminating an animal carcass by applying the disclosed compositions onto the surface of the animal carcass to soften and loosen foreign debris attached to the carcass followed by mechanically removing the foreign debris while preserving the integrity and quality of the hide byproduct and resulting leather articles.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a unit dose capsule (101) for treatment of a substrate, the capsule (101) comprising three compartments (102, 103, 104) containing a substrate treatment composition, wherein: the capsule (101) is formed from two sheets of water-soluble film, the two sheets of film being sealed together forming a sealing web lying on a sealing plane, the sealing web comprising a peripheral sealing skirt (108), inter-compartment sealing webs (1024, 1023, 1034) between compartments thereby separating the compartments from one another and a central sealing web (10234), wherein wherein the compartments have an average surface extention ratio in the range of 1.5 to 3, the surface extension ratio is the surface area of the film above the sealing plane to surface area of footprint the compartments located in the sealing plane.
Abstract:
Methods for use of enzymes for sustainable wash water maintenance are disclosed. The invention relates to use of enzymes for removing soils from wash water sources in a variety of cleaning applications. The invention cleans wash water sources, prevents the re-deposition of soils on treated surfaces and enhances detergency. Methods of wash water maintenance according to the invention provide sustainable practices by improving water quality and minimizing water and energy consumption in wash systems.

Abstract:
An iron sulfide cleaning composition is described, along with a process for using the iron sulfide cleaning composition. The iron sulfide cleaning composition is simple to use and effective in removing deposits of iron sulfide from hydrocarbon wells. The iron sulfide cleaning composition consists of formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde, methanol, 2-butoxyethanol, isopropyl alcohol, hydrochloric acid, Surfactant Intermediate, Surfactant/Corrosion Inhibitor, glacial acetic acid and water.
Abstract:
Basic cleaning compositions using toxicologically-acceptable ingredients for treating food such as produce, e.g., fruits and vegetables, and edible animal proteins are provided. Liquid formulations comprising, optionaly, less than about 0.5% detergent surfactat, such as potassium alkyl sulfate, that does not affect palatability and basic buffer to provide a pH of at least 10.5 are applied to food products immediately before consumption and allowed to stay for at least about one half minute to significantly reduce microorganism contamination. The food can be consumed without rinsing.
