Abstract:
A method for manufacturing dried combustible material includes: a mixing step of mixing a number of particles made of combustible material containing moisture and a dehydrating liquid made of an emulsion containing synthetic resin to form a mixture in which surfaces of the particles are made contact with the dehydrating liquid; and a drying step of forming a synthetic resin coating made of the dehydrating liquid dried on the surfaces of the particles and evaporating the moisture of the particles, to form coated particles including the particles having a reduced moisture content percentage and the synthetic resin coating that covers the surfaces of the particles, and produce dried combustible material made up of the coated particles.
Abstract:
A composition for inhibiting oxidation including an anionic, hydrophilic, water soluble polymer, wherein the polymer is chosen from the group consisting of anionic polyacrylamide, methylcellulose, xanthan gum, guar gum, and lignin sulfonate, an anionic surfactant, a co-solvent, and water is herein disclosed.
Abstract:
A method for treating a carbonaceous material including heating a carbonaceous material to move at least a portion of tar through the carbonaceous material toward a surface of the carbonaceous material to form a tar coating on the surface. The method also includes cooling the carbonaceous material and the tar coating on the surface to form a tar-coated carbonaceous material, wherein at least the portion of tar that forms the tar coating on the surface remains in contact with the carbonaceous material while the carbonaceous material is heated to form the tar coating and while the carbonaceous material and the tar coating are cooled to form the tar-coated carbonaceous material.
Abstract:
An organic fuel additive for improving the combustion of a bioenergy solid fuel product, the organic fuel additive comprising a mixture of combustible organic fines and a polymer material, wherein the polymer material encapsulates the combustible organic fines in solid form, and methods of making and using the same.
Abstract:
Described is a method for producing a fuel containing carbon, wherein the fuel is formed by compressing raw material containing a carbon and adding an additive that promotes thermal utilization of the fuel at a specified amount. The additive contains a chemical compound made of the elements calcium and/or magnesium and having or not having carbon. In a first method step, the raw material containing carbon is pressed and in this way a pressed article is produced. Then the additive is fed to at least one area of said pressed fuel article.
Abstract:
A method is provided for reducing noxious emissions from the combustion of coal or other solid fuels wherein a suspension and/or a dispersing agent is combined with a catalyst having a high surface area to mass ratio so as to optimize the reduction of emissions such as NOx. In addition, the agent and/or catalyst is applied on the surface of the fuel in an evenly distributed manner so as to maximize the contact between the agent and/or catalyst and combustion gases and further maximize reduction of emissions.
Abstract:
A method of producing coal briquette at a low energy cost by saving heating step or drying step for fine coal, which comprises adding and mixing from 1 to 10 mass parts of powdery starch to a coal having 15 mass % or more of water content and comprising 50 mass % or more of particles with grain size of 5 mm or less to form 100 mass parts of a mixture, and coating the surface of the briquette product with 0.1 to 5 mass parts of a heavy oil component simultaneously with or after pressure briquetting the mixture by a double roll briquetting machine in which concaves are formed on the roll surface, as well as coal briquette which is inexpensive and has high strength and high waterproof.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a liquid synfuel additive composition which is used as an additive to coal fines to enhance the complete combustion of the coal after turning it into a synthetic fuel. The composition is a chemical change agent in that it converts the coal/composition mix into a different material which, when burned, results in lower noxious emissions. The composition includes a wax, a base for ph adjustment and water.
Abstract:
Process for treating coal to enhance its rank, wherein the temperature of the material is gradually increased in a controlled set of atmospheres, to allow for the reduction of surface and inherent moisture and the controlled reduction of volatile matter while maintaining the coal's natural structural integrity. The process reduces the time, capitalization, and production costs required to produce coal of enhanced rank, thus substantially increasing the cost effectiveness and production rate over prior processes.
