    摘要: The invention is in a composition which is useful to dampen noise and vibrations which in composition can be applied to and adhered to a substrate. The composition comprises an emulsion or dispersion of asphalt in water and fillers. Preferably the fillers are alkaline earth metal or alkaline metal carbonates, or sulfates. In another embodiment, the invention is a process for applying a damping composition to a substrate which comprises contacting a composition of an emulsion of asphalt in water and a filler with a substrate. Preferably the asphalt emulsion on the surface of the substrate is exposed to a source of heat so as to dry the composition on the substrate. In a preferred embodiment the substrate is a surface in an automobile such as the floor-board, trunk well, wheel well, rocker panel or underbody.

    摘要: The invention is in a composition which is useful to dampen noise and vibrations which in composition can be applied to and adhered to a substrate. The composition comprises an emulsion or dispersion of asphalt in water and fillers. Preferably the fillers are alkaline earth metal or alkaline metal carbonates, or sulfates. In another embodiment, the invention is a process for applying a damping composition to a substrate which comprises contacting a composition of an emulsion of asphalt in water and a filler with a substrate.     摘要: One embodiment provides a process for preparing an asphalt-coated crumb rubber composition that meets the specification set forth in ASTM D80-02 or deviations thereof which may be established by the specifying agency from time to time. The process generally comprises obtaining asphalt of different penetration grades, combining the asphalt of each grade with preselected chemicals to form separate premixed components, blending the premixed components together under predetermined conditions to form, upon curing, an asphalt-coated crumb rubber composition that meets certain physical requirements for asphalt-rubber binder (ARB), such as those set forth in ASTM D8-02. Advantageously, the resulting asphalt-coated crumb rubber composition not only meets the physical requirements of ARB used in road paving but also has improved dispersion of the rubber, such as dispersion of the rubber in an oil-in-water emulsion of an asphalt.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to bituminous emulsions comprising bitumen, water, one or more emulsifiers systems and a diblock copolymer including one block of a monovinylaromatic hydrocarbon and one block of a conjugated diene, wherein the conjugated diene has a peak molecular weight from 30,000 to 78,000 and a vinyl content from 35 to 80 mol percent based on the number of repeat monomer units in the conjugated diene block. A block copolymer comprising at least two blocks of monovinylaromatic hydrocarbon and at least one block of conjugated diene, the block copolymer selected from linear triblock copolymers having a peak molecular weight that is 1.5 to 3.0 times the peak molecular weight of the diblock copolymer, multiarm coupled block copolymers having a peak molecular weight that is 1.5 to 9.0 times the peak molecular weight of the diblock copolymer, and mixtures thereof, wherein each block copolymer has a vinyl content from 35 to 80 mol percent based on the number of repeat monomer units in the conjugated diene block, wherein the ratio of (i) to (ii) in the block copolymer composition is greater than 1:1.
