Abstract:
Pigment granules having an average particle size from 50 to 5000 μm and a BET surface area ≦15 m2/g, including as essential constituents (A) from 60 to 90% by weight of at least one pigment and (B) from 10 to 40% by weight of at least one nonionic surface-active additive based on polyethers, are prepared and used for pigmenting macromolecular organic and inorganic materials.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for the preparation of a pigment dispersion starting with a tank flushed pigment that is continuously fed into a twin screw extruder, washed and dried by vacuum to get a desirable product.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for producing pigment nano-particles. One embodiment of the apparatus may comprise a furnace having a vapor region, the furnace vaporizing a pigment precursor material. A precipitation conduit open to the vapor region of the furnace, the precipitation conduit receiving vapor from the vaporized pigment precursor material. A collection fluid port opening into the precipitation conduit, the collection fluid port delivering a collection fluid into contact with the vapor in the precipitation conduit, the vapor condensing to form the pigment nano-particles. A collection system in fluid connection with the precipitation conduit, the collection system collecting the pigment nano-particles in the collection fluid.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for preparing nondusting free-flowing pigment concentrates with removal of the water from pigment suspensions comprising polymers and dispersants in a fluidized bed drier. The resulting bead-form pigment concentrates are nondusting and readily free-flowing The invention further embraces the use of pigment concentrates prepared in this way for coloring plastics and polymers.
Abstract:
There are here disclosed an amorphous alkoxyphthalocyanine which is a compound or a mixture of compounds represented by the formula (1) shown in claim 1; and a method for preparing this amorphous alkoxyphthalocyanine which comprises the step of heating a crystalline phthalocyanine compound or a mixture of crystalline phthalocyanine compounds in an organic solvent.
Abstract:
Process for the preparation of granules by spray-drying of an aqueous suspension having a solids content of greater than/equal to 30% and containing at least one dye, fluorescent brightener or photoactivator and one condensation product from naphthalenesulfonic acid and formaldehyde and, if necessary, further auxiliaries and/or diluents. The spray-drying is carried out at a feed pressure of 50-150 bar, the residual moisture content of the product is less than 4%, and the granules obtained are in particular very pressure resistant and abrasion resistant.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to pigment compositions which comprise a wet cake of a pigment whose moisture content is reduced to a range from 2 to 19 wt % while keeping the pigment in the wet cake substantially unchanged in size and shape, and non-agglomerated. The method for preparing such pigment compositions is also disclosed in which the wet cake is dehydrated to have such moisture content as indicated above. The pigment compositions may be dispersed in resins or varnishes to obtain colored resin compositions which have excellent properties.
Abstract:
A process is described for spray-drying readily water-soluble dyes and fluorescent brighteners from a saturated aqueous solution which contains undissolved dye or fluorescent brightener in a ratio between dissolved and undissolved matter of 1:9 to 9:1.The free-flowing dye or brightener granulates obtained in this process are distinguished by high bulk density, abrasion resistance and dimensional stability.
Abstract:
A process for producing a dye in powder form involves reacting an oxidation agent with an oxidation base in an aqueous alkaline preferably ammoniacal medium having a pH ranging from 8 to 13 at a temperature and during a period of time allowing at least a partial oxidation, preferably between 15.degree.-30.degree.C for a period of about 5 minutes to 30 hours and lyophilizing or spray-drying the resulting reaction product. The resulting dye can be used to color keratinic fibers, especially human hair.
Abstract:
A process for the isolation of an edible water-soluble azo dyestuff, comprising subjecting an aqueous solution or suspension of the dyestuff to atomisation by delivery of the solution or suspension on to a high speed rotating disc, in the presence of a stream of gas which is chemically inert towards the dyestuff and which is heated to a temperature in the range 200*-400* C. The products are particularly suitable for dry mixing into powdered foodstuff materials.
