Abstract: The present invention provides a multilayered acrylic polymer coagulate characterized in that the coagulate has a bulk density of 0.3 to 0.6 g/cm3 and a median diameter of 50 to 400 μm and contains particles having a particle diameter of 75 or less in a proportion of 50% or less, and the amount of alkali metal and alkaline earth metal contained in the coagulate satisfies the following formula (1):

wherein
N represents the amount of alkali metal and alkaline earth metal contained in the coagulate (mmol/kg);
Tg represents the glass transition temperature (° C.) of the acetone-soluble matter of the coagulate; and

Abstract: This disclosure provides a polymer composite including a polymer, nanocellulose, and a compatibilizer, wherein the nanocellulose comprises cellulose nanocrystals and/or cellulose nanofibrils, and wherein the compatibilizer comprises a maleated polymer. In some embodiments, the nanocellulose includes lignin-coated nanocellulose. The polymer may be selected from polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polylactide, or poly(ethylene terephthalate). The maleated polymer may be selected from maleated polyethylene, maleated polypropylene, maleated polystyrene, maleated polylactide, or maleated poly(ethylene terephthalate. Other variations provide a process for compatibilizing a polymer with nanocellulose, comprising: providing a polymer; providing nanocellulose comprising cellulose nanocrystals and/or cellulose nanofibrils; providing a maleated polymer; and combining the polymer, the nanocellulose, and the maleated polymer, wherein the maleated polymer functions as a compatibilizer between the polymer and the nanocellulose.

Abstract: Polymeric blends having improved flame retardance properties and good ductility at low temperatures are disclosed. The blend is formed from (A) a photoactive additive that is a cross-linkable polycarbonate resin containing a photoactive group derived from a dihydroxybenzophenone; and (B) a polymer resin which is different from the photoactive additive. The additive can be a compound, oligomer, or polymer. When exposed to ultraviolet light, crosslinking will occur between the photoactive additive and the polymer resin, enhancing the chemical resistance and flame retardance while maintaining ductility.

Abstract: The present invention provides a POSS-containing in-situ composite nanogel with magnetic responsiveness and the method for preparing the same, wherein POSS-containing macromolecule capable of polymerizing and metal-coordination complexing is synthesized to complex with iron salt, Fe2+/Fe3+ salts are in-situ deposited via chemical coprecipitation, and crosslinking agent and initiator are added to induce polymerization so that POSS-containing nanogel ranges with magnetic responsiveness is obtained. The present invention is of professional design, feasible technique and simple operation, and prepared nanogel magnetic particles are well dispersed with excellent magnetic responsiveness, which possesses a good application prospect in medical diagnosis, sensor, catalyst carrier and biomaterial.

Abstract: To provide a water-soluble film having excellent solubility, a packaging bag using the water-soluble film, a content release body using the water-soluble film, and a method for producing a water-soluble film. It is a water-soluble film prepared by film-forming a raw material containing a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin and a bisulfite. A bisulfite is added to the raw material containing the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin. Owing to this, the decrease in solubility of the water-soluble film is suppressed even though the raw material is maintained in a heating state for a predetermined time. This effect is the effect characteristic in a bisulfite, and is the effect that is not obtained in the case where a sulfite is used.
