Disclosed is a polyurethane foam composition based on polyisocyanates comprising initially at least 20 wt % mMDI and at most 24.5 wt % mTDI, a towards isocyanate polyfunctional and a towards isocyanate monofunctional compound, which composition contains a) less than 1.00 wt % residual free mMDI, b) at least 0.4 wt % total of mMDI of which at least one isocyanate group has been reacted with a monofunctional compound, c) wherein the polyurethane prepolymer composition is having an isocyanate index of at least 105 and at most 350, d) wherein the equivalents ratio of functional groups of the monofunctional compounds relative to the amount of the isocyanate functional groups initially present is at least 6.5%, and e) wherein the equivalents ratio of towards isocyanate tri- and higher functional reactive compounds relative to the isocyanate functional groups initially present is at most 6.50%. The composition contains an organotin catalyst which is or is derived from a dialkyltin compound having the structure (I): [R1][R2]—Sn═O (I) where R1 and R2 are the same or different, and each independently represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group wherein the sum of the carbon atoms in R1 and R2 is greater than 8. The catalyst is present in an amount sufficient to effect cure at a temperature at or below 340° F. (171.1° C.). Methods of preparing and using the composition also are provided.

The subject invention provides a composition and a process for forming a flexible polyurethane foam sealing device having improved compression set properties at increased temperatures. The sealing device is formed without the use of chemical blowing agents. The composition includes an isocyanate component for reaction with a resin component comprising an isocyanate-reactive component having a functionality of least four and a hydroxyl number of less than 40, a graft dispersion, and a physical blowing agent. The most preferred physical blowing agent is HFC-245 fa or 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane.

When used as a finish on flat materials, the preparations can endow the treated flat materials with durable hydrophobic properties.

This invention relates to a process for the production of polyurethane elastomers having low compression sets. The process comprises reacting A) an isocyanate component comprising methylene bis(phenyl isocyanate) containing the 2,4′-isomer of methylene bis(phenyl isocyanate), with B) an isocyanate-reactive component, optionally, in the presence of C) one or more additives. The reaction components are processed via the one-shot process at an isocyanate index of 90 to 130.
