摘要: A bottom machine is provided for a glass processing device to manufacture glass containers from glass tubes. The bottom machine includes one or a plurality of holding units for holding the glass container or glass tube, with the holding units being mounted so as to rotate around an axis of rotation of the bottom machine in order to convey the glass container or glass tube to various processing positions, a pressure source for supplying a gas flow, a duct system communicating with the pressure source for directing the gas flow to the holding units and for feeding the gas flow into the glass tube or into the glass container, with the duct system being designed to be free of gaps.

摘要: An improved system and method is disclosed for providing cooling air to mating mold halves during the entire cycle and an additional degree of cooling during the portion of the cycle when hot glass material is enclosed within mating mold halves. Countercurrent cooling air flows are established in separate arrays of cooling passages located in each mold half, with one of the cooling air flows being capable of actively cooling the mold halves over the full cycle rather than only when the mold halves are in their closed position. The cooling air flowing in the separate arrays of cooling passages allows separate timing and control of the cooling air flows supplied to the arrays of cooling passages in the molds.

摘要: A glassware mold bottom plate mounting arrangement in a glassware forming machine includes a floating ring captured by a cap plate on a base for limited lateral movement with respect to the base and the cap plate. A hollow spud is rigidly secured to and extends from the ring. A cooling wind passage in the base opens through the hollow spud, and a vacuum passage in the base opens through the ring at a position spaced from the spud. A glassware mold bottom plate is removably telescopically received over the ring and the spud. The bottom plate has a central air passage received over the spud, an annular recess received over the ring, and a peripheral air passage that opens into the annular recess such that the central and peripheral air passages open to the cooling wind and vacuum passages in the base through the spud and the ring respectively. The spud and the ring preferably have external seals in respective sliding sealing engagement with the central air passage and the annular recess in the bottom plate. There preferably are face seals between the base and the floating ring, and between the ring and an undersurface of the cap plate.
