    摘要: The present device is an apparatus and method for processing hazardous drain flows on an offshore work platform. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to the process by which these hazardous drain flows are collected, processed and then released on an offshore work platform. This process includes phases that make up a successful treatment process: (1) coalescing, (2) particulate separation, and (3) oil absorption and adsorption. The disclosed device is the first single processing plant to capture all 3 of these necessary sub-systems onto one skid and one device.

    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention are generally related to a system and method to remove hydrogen sulfide from sour water and sour oil. In particular, hydrogen sulfide is removed from sour water and sour oil without the need for special chemicals, such as catalyst chemicals, scavenger chemicals, hydrocarbon sources, or a large scale facility. The system and method in the present invention is particularly useful in exploratory oil and gas fields, where large facilities to remove hydrogen sulfide may be inaccessible. The present invention addresses the need for safe and cost effective transport of the deadly neurotoxin. Particular embodiments involve a system and method that can be executed both on a small and large scale to sweeten sour water and sour oil.

    摘要: A process and process line for treating water containing hydrogen sulfide for use as a hydraulic fracturing fluid is provided, to practice the following steps: separating a gaseous portion containing hydrogen sulfide from the water to form a first degassed water product; introducing the first degassed water product into a mechanical gas stripping unit and treating the first degassed water product with a stripper gas; recovering from the mechanical gas stripping unit at least one overhead vapor stream containing hydrogen sulfide and a stripped water stream as a bottom stream; degassing the stripped water stream in a degassing tank to produce a second degassed water product; and treating the second degassed water product with a hydrogen sulfide scavenger to produce a sweet water product having substantially reduced hydrogen sulfide.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a novel approach for nitrate removal from a marine recirculating system (10) wherein high concentrations of sulfate found in seawater is used in combination with sludge (20) collected from fish growing tanks (12) to promote dissimilatory sulfate reduction to hydrogen sulfide. The sulfide is used as an electron source to promote autotrophic denitrification in an up-flow fix bed bioreactor (16), followed by nitrification in a nitrification unit (14). By utilizing the symbiotic relationship between the sulfate-reducing and sulfide-oxidizing bacterial community, nitrate accumulation is controlled in the recirculating water of the system thereby reducing water exchange in the marine recirculating system.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for treating wastewater streams by adding, either separately or as a mixture, a nitrate containing compound and an alkaline material in an amount sufficient to achieve a lower concentration of atmospheric hydrogen sulfide and dissolved sulfides downstream of the addition as compared to the atmospheric hydrogen sulfide and dissolved sulfides present in the wastewater stream prior to the addition. By adding alkaline material in addition to a nitrate containing compounds, the amount of nitrate containing compound added can be reduced by at least 10% as compared to the amount of nitrate that would theoretically need to be added in the absence of alkaline material to achieve a comparable lower concentration of atmospheric hydrogen sulfide and dissolved sulfides in the wastewater stream.
