Abstract:
The present invention relates to a mayenite-type compound in which a part of Ca of a mayenite-type compound containing Ca, Al and oxygen is substituted by at least one kind of an atom M selected from the group consisting of Be, Mg and Sr, in which the mayenite-type compound has an atom number ratio represented by M/(Ca+M) of from 0.01 to 0.50, and at least a part of free oxygen ions in a mayenite-type crystal structure are substituted by anions of an atom having electron affinity smaller than that of an oxygen atom.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an alkaline-earth-aluminate-type compound which is at least partially crystallised such as in the form of a beta- or tridymite-type alumina Said compound can be used as phosphor in plasma-type screens or in trichromatic lamps, backlights for liquid crystal displays or plasma excitation lighting or in light-emitting diodes. The invention also relates to a precursor compound of the aforementioned compound.
Abstract:
An improved process for the production of alkaline earth, aluminum-containing spinel compositions, preferably magnesium, aluminum-containing spinel compositions and preferably further comprising at least one additional metal component, comprises adding a basic aqueous solution containing at least one aluminum component to an aqueous solution containing at least one alkaline earth metal component to form a precipitate at defined pH conditions and calcining the precipitate to form a spinel composition. The product spinel composition, preferably with included additional metal components, is particularly suited for use to reduce the amount of sulfur oxides emitted from a catalyst regeneration zone, e.g., a catalytic cracking unit regeneration zone.
Abstract:
High surface area alkaline earth aluminate spinel materials are disclosed, together with methods for the preparation thereof from one or more alkaline earth metal salts and a water soluble non-ionic polymer. A nanocrystalline alkaline earth metal aluminate spinel prepared according to the method is also provided.
Abstract:
Submicronic barium and magnesium aluminates, useful as phosphors, are in the form of a liquid-phase suspension of substantially monocrystalline particles having an average particle size ranging from 80 to 400 nm; such aluminates are prepared by a process that includes: providing a liquid mixture containing compounds of aluminum and of other elements that are part of the aluminate composition; drying the mixture by atomization; calcining the dried product in a reducing atmosphere and wet-grinding this product.
Abstract:
An improved process for fabricating barium calcium aluminum impregnants for dispenser cathodes is described. The resulting cathodes have improved lifetimes and reliability through the use of organometallic starting materials in the impregnant process.
Abstract:
Terbium doped phosphate-based green luminescent material and preparation method thereof are provided. The chemical formula of the material is M3RE1-xTbx(PO4)3, wherein, M is alkaline-earth metals, RE is rare-earth elements, x is in a range of 0.001 to 1. The preparation method of the material includes the following steps; providing the compound used as the source of alkaline earth metal, the compound used as the source of phosphate, the compound used as the source of rare-earth, and the compound used as the source of Tb3+ according to the molar ratio of the elements in M3RE1-xTbx(PO4)3, wherein, the compound used as the source of phosphate is added at excess molar ratio in a range of 10% to 30%; mixing and grinding the compound to get mixture; sintering the mixture as pre-treatment, and then cooling the mixture to get a sintered matter; grinding; calcining in reducing atmosphere, and then cooling them.
Abstract:
A method of preparing spherical pellets from a slurry comprising a ceramic powder, a solvent, and any desired additives, by means of a drop-generating orifice to which said slurry is fed is described, wherein the drops are released from said orifice by means of a relative flow of a liquid medium which is a poor solvent for the solvent of the slurry, formed into spherical bodies in said liquid medium by means of the action of surface tension, and thereafter treated for consolidation. More specifically, the present invention relates to the preparation of pellets of a catalyst or catalyst support material, suitable for use in high temperature conditions.
