A roller includes a shaft, and an elastic body portion that is provided on an outer peripheral surface of the shaft, in which the elastic body portion includes an inner peripheral portion which becomes a shaft side, an outer peripheral portion which becomes an outer side with respect to the inner peripheral portion, a plurality of first connection portions which connect the inner peripheral portion and the outer peripheral portion, and a plurality of second connection portions which are provided in a space portion between the adjacent first connection portions and which partition the space portion into one side and the other side of the roller in the axial direction, and in which the first connection portion is inclined in the same direction in a peripheral direction with respect to a radial direction of the roller.

An image forming apparatus includes a sheet container accommodating a recording medium therein, a sheet separating feeder including a sheet feeding body and a sheet separating body, an image forming part, and a bend applier. The sheet feeding body feeds the recording medium along with a surface movement thereof while the recording medium contacting the surface thereof. The sheet separating body forms a sheet separation nip region with the sheet feeding body and sandwiches the recording medium in the sheet separation nip region. The sheet separating feeder separates and feeds the recording medium contacting the sheet feeding body. The image forming part forms an image on the recording medium. The bend applier having a leading end of an elastic material contacts and bends the recording medium before the sheet separation nip region and generates a wrinkle extending on the recording medium in a sheet conveying direction.

The invention relates to a guide wheel arrangement for guiding two-dimensional material webs, in particular for guiding material webs or material sheets. The guide wheel arrangement comprises a guide wheel comprising an inner central hub section and an outer guide ring, which is connected to the inner hub section in a rotationally fixed manner for guiding the two-dimensional material elements, as well as an insert bushing which is to be arranged on a shaft and is concentrically inserted into the inner hub section, wherein the insert bushing is connected to the guide wheel in a rotationally fixed manner.

The sleeve roll according to the present invention has the metallic sleeve 5 fitted over the rubber roll 4, covering the surface of the shaft core part 2, and can be efficiently heated or cooled by having the passage P formed between the metallic roll inner tube 2a and the metallic roll outer tube 2b for the thermal medium to flow through. It also has the heat conductive material 6 mixed into the rubber roll 4, so that it has excellent heat conductivity and the surface of the sleeve can be quickly and efficiently heated or cooled, thus preventing the material to be formed from sticking to the roll.

A self-adjusting resilient roller, particularly for use with a feed roller, to provide for a self-adjusting system whereby the self-adjusting roller will conform to various thicknesses of sheet material between the self-adjusting roller and the feed roller without adjusting the position of the rollers, the self-adjusting roller formed of resilient material having a central axial pasageway for a shaft, and a plurality of smaller generally circular openings surrounding the central passageway and characterized further by a generally triangular opening toward the outer periphery of the self-adjusting roller and between each smaller circular opening, so as to provide a generally uniform wall thickness of resilient material surrounding each of the circular openings in the self-adjusting roller, whereby uniform resiliency under compression is imparted to the roller.

The invention provides a roller having excellent flexibility and wear resistance. The invention also provides a sheet delivery unit equipped with this roller. The unit is prevented from being clogged up with sheets due to rigidities of the sheets. Also, simultaneous delivery of plural sheets is suppressed. The allowable range of rigidities of paper currencies and the allowable range of their widths can be extended. The roller has a central portion extending along an axis, an outer peripheral portion formed around the central portion and made of a resilient body, and plural helical ribs connecting together the central portion and the outer peripheral portion. Each rib consists of a resilient body. Each rib is so shaped as to thicken gradually from the central portion toward the outer peripheral portion.
