    Abstract: A conveyor belt includes an upper cover rubber and a lower cover rubber disposed above and below a core layer; and a protective fiber layer made from high strength fiber disposed at least in a central portion of the upper cover rubber in a belt width direction and extending continuously in a belt longitudinal direction; an elastic modulus E of the protective fiber layer in the belt longitudinal direction being a low elastic modulus E1 equal to or less than a predetermined value when a tension in the belt longitudinal direction acting on the conveyor belt is equal to or less than a setting tension Ts, and being a high elastic modulus E2 higher than the low elastic modulus E1 when a predetermined high tension higher than the setting tension Ts is acting on the conveyor belt.

    Abstract: A conveying device for transport of workpiece carriers from and to one or more machining stations, has a stationary conveyor track having at least one guide rail, with at least one stopping device provided for stopping the workpiece carrier. This stopping device is formed as a pivot lever that is integrated in the at least one guide rail and pivotable for stopping the workpiece carrier from a neutral position in which it is aligned with the guide rail, to a position pivoted outwardly out of the guide rail. A method of stopping a workpiece carrier is also provided.

    Abstract: Provided is a conveyor belt wear monitoring system capable of determining the wear condition of an upper rubber cover of a conveyor belt. When the conveyor belt is stopped, on the return side of the conveyor belt, a wear detector with a sensor unit corresponding to an upper cover rubber is disposed, the wear detector is controlled by a control unit to move across an entire length in a belt width direction and the distance from the sensor unit and a surface of the upper cover rubber is detected, the detected data is received by a calculation unit, and an amount of wear of the upper cover rubber is calculated on the basis of the received data.

    Abstract: A system and a method for monitoring a belt to predict a lifespan for the belt are described. An indicator of belt speed and an indicator of torque from a motor for driving the belt can be determined for a first time interval. A belt service value can be determined for the first time interval based upon the indicators of belt speed and torque from the motor. The belt service value can indicate a deviation from one or more reference belt speeds and torques from the motor. An effective service interval can be determined for the operation of the belt during the first time interval, based upon the belt service value. An indicator of a remaining operational lifespan for the belt can then be determined, based upon the effective service interval.
