摘要: A mechanism and method for generating lift with the Bernoulli Effect. A pair of cylindrical impellers create a pair of counter rotating forced linear vortices. Fast moving, low pressure air surrounding the forced vortices comes into contact with the upper sides of semicylindrical lifting surfaces. Higher pressure, slower moving air is in contact with the lower sides of the lifting surfaces. The velocity differentials between the upper and lower sides of the lifting surfaces cause a pressure differential that produces lift.

Paddle-boxes. - Relates to means for driving boats, ships, aircraft, and windmills, and consists in fitting to paddles or paddlewheels a fixed or rotatably adjustable casing or hood, approximately semicircular, enveloping substantially one half of the wheel, and having apertures in its walls to permit the fluid to pass away from the casing or hood. Fig. 2 shows a paddle wheel 6 with its casing 7 having perforations 8 at the sides, and peripheral apertures 10 fitted with deflecting vanes 11 which may be fitted with means for varying their angles of inclination. In a modification, the openings and vanes of the periphery of the casing are constructed in the form of buckets.

摘要: A rotating machine with a fluid rotor comprises a set of blades (4) mounted on arms (2) rotating about a main axis (1) of the rotor, the rotor being held by a support structure (5) in an orientation such that said axis (1) is essentially perpendicular to the direction of the flow of fluid, each blade (4) being mounted pivoting about a respective axis of rotation (3) parallel to the main axis (1), the machine comprising a linkage (13, 7, 14) for generating a relative rotational movement of each blade (4) relative to the arm (2) of same at the axis of rotation (3) thereof, in order to thus vary the tilt of the blade relative to the flow of fluid in an angular range. According to the invention, the machine comprises means for collectively modifying the geometry of the linkages (13, 7, 14) from a movement generated at the main axis of the rotor in order to vary the amplitude of the angular range.

摘要: A vertical takeoff and landing craft that utilizes lifting, propulsion and maneuvering (LPM) assemblies comprising a series of blade foils arranged along track elongated loop paths disposed at the sides of a fuselage. These LPM assemblies are provided with control mechanisms enabling lift, attitude changes, altitude changes and directional flight propulsion and control including those needed for hovering as well as vertical takeoff and landing. The LPM assemblies are configured to drive large volumes of air in a manner and scale favorably similar to conventional rotorcraft while in contrast, providing capability for faster flights by eliminating or minimizing speed limiting factors commonly associated with rotorcraft.

摘要: In order to continuously rotate an impeller having an axis parallel to a ground surface in one direction to generate lift, a cover close to a periphery in an opposite lift side is provided within a half of an outer periphery of the impeller, and a cylindrical scroll wheel integrally and concentrically rotating with the impeller is provided in a cavity portion near a root of the impeller, whereby a balance between the lift side and the opposite lift side is broken aerodynamically.
