    摘要: An apparatus for adjusting the partial pressure of gaseous mixtures comprises a housing and piston. The housing defines a chamber coupled to an oxygen metering orifice, diluent metering orifice, vent port and gas outlet. The oxygen metering orifice provides oxygen to the chamber and the diluent metering orifice provides diluent gas to the chamber. The piston is movably positioned in the chamber and includes first and second sealing devices. The chamber is sectioned into a mixing chamber, a diluent chamber and a reference chamber located between the mixing chamber and diluent chamber. The diluent chamber receives a diluent gas referenced at ambient pressure and the reference chamber is charged with a gas having a reference pressure. The piston changes positions within the chamber depending on a force balance created by a pressure differential between the reference pressure and ambient pressure.

    摘要: A first stage pressure regulator is provided. The regulator includes a valve body having an inlet and an outlet coupled by a pressure chamber. A pressure compensation chamber fluidly communicates with the surrounding water. A valve member is slidably carried by the valve body between an open state in which fluid is permitted to flow between the inlet and outlet and a closed state in which fluid is prevented from flowing between the inlet and outlet. The valve member has an expansion head that is operably acted upon by the surrounding water within the pressure compensation chamber to bias the valve member toward the open state. The regulator includes an annular insulating bushing within the compensation chamber that covers a portion of the valve body defining a portion of the pressure compensation chamber to insulate the valve body from the water within the pressure compensation chamber.

    摘要: A shut-off member of a pressure reducing valve of a pressure regulator device, such as a diaphragm-type first stage for scuba diving, includes an enlarged head connected to a shaft and cooperating with a valve seat that separates a chamber supplied with high pressure gas from a chamber in which gas is at a lower pressure. The enlarged head and an end section of predetermined length of the shaft, connected to the enlarged head, are seamlessly coated with at least one layer of elastomeric material. Such coating of elastomeric material is limited to an end portion of the shaft connected to the enlarged head and the coated shaft portion is entirely contained in the high-pressure chamber in any operating position of the shut-off member.

    摘要: A buoyancy adjustment device utilizes an inflation valve connected between the diver's breathing gas supply and a compartment to admit gas into the compartment to increase the diver's buoyancy. An exhaust valve connects between the compartment and the outside of the vest, to release gas from the compartment to the surrounding environment to decrease the diver's buoyancy. A hand-operated controller connected to the inflation valve, when caused to move from a neutral position to an inflation position, actuates the inflation valve and admits gas to the compartment. The hand-operated controller is also connected to the exhaust valve via a flexible pushrod so that, when caused to move from the neutral position to an exhaust position, actuates the exhaust valve and releases gas from the compartment. The flexible pushrod is housed in a sleeve that is totally contained within the compartment. Both the inflation valve and the exhaust valve are mounted substantially within the compartment, below the outer wall of the diver's vest and their respective working parts leave only a low profile raised above the outside surface of the vest. A cloth sleeve is positioned inside the front portion of the vest to conveniently store a spare breathing regulator.

    摘要: A fluid flow control valve is disclosed. This valve includes a housing which defines a central passageway having fluid inlet and fluid outlet openings. A pressure responsive element is disposed within the passageway for selectively opening and closing the inlet opening to fluid flow in response to fluid pressure exerted thereon at the inlet opening. A mechanism is provided within the passageway for exerting a bias force against the pressure responsive element which is sufficient to close the inlet opening to fluid flow absent a pre-established level of fluid pressure exerted on the pressure responsive element. A fluid filter element is also disposed within the passageway; and a retainer device is positioned for removably securing the filter element within the passageway.
