Abstract: A caster of an endless structure is provided which is almost jam-proof even in the case of a bigger gap. The caster includes a first wheel supported on a mounting leg, a second wheel supported by an axle on one end of a suspension arm of which the other end is supported by an axle which also supports the first wheel, and a wrap-around member which is wrapped around the first and second wheels. The wraparound member is formed an endless belt form by connecting independent pieces to each other. The outer peripheral section of each piece is provided with a wider section and when the wraparound member is depressed and warps, the wider section is adapted to touch a wider section of the adjacent piece, thereby preventing further depression.

Abstract: A manually propelled vehicle (1) comprises a frame (11) and a plurality of wheels (17, 23) secured to the frame (11) for conveying the vehicle (1) in one mode of operation. The vehicle (1) further comprises at least one continuous track assembly (3) mounted on the frame (11) and defining an upper tread (63a) and a lower tread (63b). The distance between the upper tread (63a) and lower tread (63b) can be changed from a retracted condition to an extended condition. In the extended condition, the lower tread (63b) forms the ground engaging surface of the vehicle (1) for conveying the vehicle (1) in a second mode of operation thereof. The vehicle (1) further comprises a seat (5) pivotally mounted to the frame (11) and means to tilt the seat (15) rear-wardly when ascending or descending an incline.

Abstract: The game/supply carrier provides a single-wheel, motorized cart adapted to transport game. The cart is designed with a low center of gravity to enhance stability when loaded and used on rugged an uneven terrain. Throttle and brake controls are disposed on the cart's handles for easy access. An array of straps is provided to form baskets on opposite sides of the cart. The baskets are designed to contain and “tie down” the game's quarters whereby most of the load is carried below the top of the wheel to improve cart maneuverability.

Abstract: A rescue device which attaches to the frame of a self-contained breathing apparatus carried on the back of emergency workers such as firemen, hazardous-waste cleanup crews, and other individuals entering into hostile environments. The rescue device is adapted to connect to the frame of existing self-contained breathing apparatus frames or racks. In one form, the rescue device has a top and bottom frame which connects to the SCBA frame at the top and bottom locations. The frames project around the body of the SCBA tank and extend out to position rolling elements for providing the transportation needs. The frames have at the rolling elements ends wheel forks which contain wheels having axles. In another embodiment a skid plate is attached to the ends of the frames in conjunction with the protruding wheels or by itself without rolling elements. Other ways of creating the reduction in frictional drag are provided such as a sled type configuration and a track system.

Abstract: A conventional endless belt is made of a comparatively flexible member such as rubber. When the endless belt comes in contact with a gap, part of the belt is pushed inward against the gap to be depressed and as a result, a greater power is needed for the endless belt to climb over the gap and it becomes easily jamed. According to the present invention, a caster of an endless structure is provided which is almost jam-proof even in the case of a bigger gap. The caster comprises a first wheel 3 supported on a mounting leg 2, a second wheel 4 supported by an axle 8 on one end of a suspension arm 7 of which the other end is supported by an axle 6 which also supports the first wheel 3, and a wrap-around member 5 which is wrapped around the first and second wheels 3 and 4. Abstract: A pair of endless belt track assemblies attach to the frame of a hand truck and extend backwards from the ground wheels for a distance to facilitate travel on stairs or the like during the intervals when the ground wheels are out of contact with the stair treads. Rollers are situated between the front, back, lower and upper regions of a pair of spaced apart side plates and are spaced from the edges of the plates to define a continuous belt guideway between the peripheral regions of the side plates. An endless belt is seated in the guideway in continuous contact with each of the rollers and functions as a crawler track when the truck wheels are out of contact with the stairs. The construction reduces resistance to belt movement from friction and inhibits jamming of the rollers and snagging of the belt.
