    摘要: A predictive railroad crossing system proactively improves railroad safety notification and traffic control decisions to avoid crossing-associated delays for a plurality of operating trains. The system is configured to iteratively respond to real-time operating data for the trains and identify public or private railroad crossings that each respective operating train will approach. An estimated time of arrival and estimated of blocked crossing duration time is made predictively for each of identified public or private railroad crossings without any physical train detection in at least some of the identified public or private railroad crossings.

The portable controller can have a second communication module configured to communicate with the first communication module to actuate the controller to control of the electronic circuit.

    摘要: A system for detecting obstructions within a railroad crossing. The system may include at least one housing in the form of a tower. The housing is located at the railroad crossing. A sensor box may be disposed within the housing. The sensor box may include a sensor and a transmitter disposed within. The sensor is operable to detect an obstruction on a railroad at the railroad crossing. The present invention further includes a wiring electrically connecting the sensor box to a signal gate at the railroad crossing. When the signal gate is powered the sensor is powered and the wireless transmitter is operable to transmit a signal to an oncoming train when the sensor detects the obstruction on the railroad.

    摘要: A method for predicting failure of a crossing warning system is disclosed. The method includes monitoring an electrical characteristic of a first route when an electric current is injected into the first route. The first route has a crossing intersection with a second route and a crossing signal at the crossing intersection. The electrical characteristic is monitored to detect when a vehicle is approaching the crossing intersection on the first route and to determine when to activate the crossing signal at the crossing intersection. The method also includes identifying one or more changes in the electrical characteristic of the first route, and, based on the one or more changes that are identified, predicting a failure mode of the first route that interferes with detection of the vehicle approaching the crossing intersection.

The system includes a processing device, a communications interface communicatively coupled to the processing device and operable for facilitating communications between the processing device and at least one external device, and at least one vehicle detection mechanism placed proximate to a rail grade crossing. The at least one vehicle detection mechanism is communicatively coupled to the processing device and operable to provide signals to the processing device indicative of the presence or non-presence of a vehicle within a defined area surrounding an intersection of a roadway and one or more railroad tracks. The processing device is further programmed to communicate the presence or non-presence of a vehicle along with supporting correlative visual data within the defined area to the at least one external device via the communications interface.

    摘要: Provided is a device for detecting intruding objects that enables the detection of intruding objects without requiring antenna switching. Delay units (102) use different delay amounts to delay signals received at each of a plurality of antennas (110). A signal synthesis unit (103) synthesizes the delayed signals. A frequency conversion unit (106) converts the synthesized signal frequency to a baseband. A wave detection unit (107) detects the signal that has undergone frequency conversion. A radar profile generation unit (104) uses the detected signal to generate a profile formed from the distance from the antenna, and the signal strength at each distance from the antenna. A detection processing unit (105) detects a peak in the profile at which the signal strength exceeds a preset threshold value, and determines whether an intruding object is present in a detection region on the basis of the detected peak.
