Abstract: A variable flow check valve device is proposed comprising an inlet connected with a first pressure fluid reservoir, an outlet connected with a second pressure fluid reservoir, which is separate and/or separable from the first pressure fluid reservoir, a check valve closing member configured to open and to close the outlet in response to a pressure difference of the pressure fluid on opposite sides of the check valve closing member, and a spool valve with a movable spool disposed in a flow path of the pressure fluid extending from the inlet to the outlet, the spool valve forming a variable orifice within the flow path of the pressure fluid, wherein the variable flow check valve device further comprises a force balancing unit disposed in the flow path of the pressure fluid and configured to create a balancing force to at least partially counteract a force acting on the spool when the pressure fluid passes the at least partially opened spool valve.

Abstract: A suspension system of an associated vehicle. The suspension system comprises an outer reservoir tube extending along an axis between a first end and a second end and defining a chamber. A piston assembly is at least partially located in the chamber. The piston assembly includes a piston rod and a piston head. A solenoid assembly is connected to the piston rod. The solenoid assembly comprises a core including a core head and a core body. A spool extends about the core body and defines a space. A coil is wrapped around the spool within the space. An induction plate is at least partially located between the spool and the core head. As the input current is modulated the induction plate promotes the induction of eddy currents opposing the field induction attenuating the force ripples of the magnetic field buildup and decay.

Abstract: A solenoid valve that can be adjusted axially, and hermetically, to a first end of a body of a shock absorber in order to be able to regulate the hydraulic load of the shock absorber as well as guide the movement of the rod in a longitudinal direction. The solenoid valve includes a movable part that can be moved between an open fluid flow position and another closed fluid flow position, a regulating chamber that generates a pressure to move said movable part towards the opening and an elastic element that generates a closing force. Likewise, the solenoid valve also includes electronic means to exert a force on the movable part, to move it in the direction of movement, preferably by means of a magnetic load. The invention also includes a shock absorber with hydraulic load regulation that comprises a solenoid valve, like the one mentioned, adjusted hermetically to a first end of the body of said shock absorber.

Abstract: A shock absorber includes: a cylinder; a piston slidably inserted into the cylinder; a piston rod connected to the piston and extending outside the cylinder; a main valve that generates a damping force; a pilot chamber that applies pressure to the main valve; an introduction passage that introduces the fluid into the pilot chamber; a pilot passage that communicates the pilot chamber and a downstream side of the main valve with each other; and a control valve provided in the pilot passage. In an upstream side of the pilot passage from the control valve, the pilot passage is provided with a first orifice, a first passage provided in parallel with the first orifice, a first check valve that is opened at a predetermined differential pressure and allows a flow toward the control valve through the first passage, and a second orifice.

Abstract: A damping unit of a shock absorber has: a damping valve provided in a second fluid passage, the damping valve being configured to impart variable resistance to a flow of working oil passing therethrough depending on positions; a bypass passage connected to the second fluid passage so as to bypass the damping valve; a solenoid valve configured to control the flow of the working oil in the bypass passage guided to the damping valve as a pilot pressure for switching the positions of the damping valve; a bottom-side restrictor portion configured to impart resistance to the flow of the working oil guided from the second fluid passage to the solenoid valve; and a rod-side relief valve configured to release the pressure in the bypass passage to a rod side chamber through the second fluid passage.

Abstract: A hydraulic suspension system for a motor vehicle having at least a pair of road engaging wheels. The suspension system includes, a hydraulic cylinder coupled with the each of the pair of road engaging wheels, the hydraulic cylinder defining a cap end volume and a rod end volume separated by a piston. A hydraulic supply circuit for the hydraulic cylinder includes, a high pressure hydraulic source, a low pressure hydraulic drain, a pair of hydraulic sub circuits each coupled to one of the hydraulic cylinder cap and rod end volumes. Each hydraulic sub circuit includes, a proportional supply flow valve coupled with the high pressure hydraulic source and one of the cylinder volumes, a return flow control proportional valve coupled with the low pressure hydraulic drain and the one cylinder volume, and an accumulator coupled to the associated hydraulic cylinder volume through an accumulator fill control proportional valve.

Abstract: A damper system and method for a vehicle includes a shock absorber and a damper module. The shock absorber includes a plurality of digital valves. The shock absorber is operable at one of multiple damping states based on a valve state of the digital valves. The damper module is coupled to each of the digital valves and controls each of the digital valves to a desired state based on a damper setting. The damper module determines a target damping state, where the target state is one of the multiple damping states. The damper module performs a switch operation to control the valve state of the plurality of digital valves to a given desired state when the target damping state is different from a present damping state.

The damping air spring primarily provides damping to the axle/suspension system over a first range of frequencies. The shock absorber primarily provides damping to the axle/suspension system over a second range of frequencies. The first range of frequencies is from about 0.0 Hz to about 6.0 Hz and the second range of frequencies is from about 0.0 Hz to about 13.0 Hz.
