摘要： A method of making a container for consumer goods is provided, the method including: folding a first cellulose-based layer to form a package, the package defining a housing for the consumer goods; forming an outer wrapper, the outer wrapper including a second cellulose-based layer having an inner surface defining an inner area and an outer surface defining an outer area, a first polymeric layer provided on the inner surface, and a second polymeric layer provided on less than 30 percent of the outer surface, the first polymeric layer and the second polymeric layer being heat-sealable layers; wrapping the package with the outer wrapper, the wrapping being made so that the first polymeric layer is provided on an inner side of the second cellulose-based layer; and heating the package and the outer wrapper to seal the outer wrapper on the package, forming the container.

摘要： A container configured to be selectively moved between a substantially flat configuration and a deployed configuration is provided. The container includes a plurality of side walls formed from a first blank and a bottom wall formed from a second blank. Each side wall has an end flap extending from a bottom edge of the first blank. The bottom wall is coupled to a first end flap extending from a first side wall of the first blank, and is foldable along a fold line for selectively moving the container from a deployed configuration into a substantially flat configuration. A second end flap extends from a second side wall adjacent the first side wall, and a third end flap extends from a third side wall adjacent the second side wall. The second and third end flaps support the second blank in uncoupled communication when the container is in the deployed configuration.

摘要： This invention provides an apparatus for attaching a cutting strip to a carton blank. The apparatus includes a first member for conveying carton blanks past a second member, and the second member is arranged to cut a cuffing strip from a supply of cuffing strip material and deposit the cutting strip upon a carton blank. The first member may be a conveyor belt fitted with a suction member, and the second member may be upper and lower dies that are movable relative to one another and a member that can feed a supply of cutting strip material between the dies. Initial downward movement of the upper die cuts a cutting strip from the supply of cutting strip material and the cutting strip is retained on the upper die. Further downward movement of the upper die brings the cutting strip into contact with a carton blank. The apparatus may also include an alignment member to ensure that the carton blanks are properly positioned relative to the second member when the cutting strips are attached.
