    摘要： The invention can efficiently provide a carcass member constituting a carcass layer of a radial tire, particularly, a carcass member a direction of a cord of which constitutes an angle of substantially 90° relative to a tire circumferential direction, and can easily adjust a length in accordance with a size, one piece of a cord (C) is continuously passed through a rubber coating die (14) to coat rubber on the cord, the rubber coated cord (C1) is shaped such that a sectional outer shape thereof constitutes an elliptical shape, the rubber coated cord (C1) is wound around an aligning drum (30) while adjusting a direction of the elliptical shape by way of an aligning guide (20) to bond without producing a gap to form a cylinder-like member (A1), thereafter, the cylinder-like member (A1) is cut in a direction in parallel with the drum axis center to constitute a sheet-like shape.

A pusher element urges each coil formed on the forming support against the previously formed coils causing translation of same to a cutter. Following cutting of the coils, a continuous semifinished product is obtained which has elongated reinforcing elements disposed parallel and close to each other and transversely of the longitudinal extension of the semifinished product.

    摘要： A continuous process is disclosed for the formation of ringshaped pieces of reinforced rubber, useful as breakers in pneumatic tires. A rubber band having reinforcing elements or a plurality of said bands is wound around a cylindrical support in a cylindrical spiral shape. Certain portions of the cylindrical support are moved from the formation area to an exit area at such a speed synchronized with the reels containing the rubber band to result in a tubular body of uniform thickness and indefinite width. The tubular body is then cut into ring-shaped pieces and removed while the moving portions of the cylindrical support are recycled to the formation area. The apparatus is also disclosed. The moveable portions can be cylindrical, flexible metallic frames; cylindrical strips connected by chains or thin steel bands sustained by supports which are solid with the fixed part of the cylindrical support. A preferred embodiment has part of the moveable portions recycled within a defined cylindrical sector but outside the shaft.

    摘要： A reinforced tire fabric comprising an elastomeric body portion in which a plurality of helically formed, single filament wires constitute the reinforcing. The helix delineated by each reinforcing wire has a relatively long lay and the diameter thereof is preferably no greater than three times the diameter of the wire itself. The wire filaments may be cold formed into their respective helices by being drawn through relatively rotatable orifice means-adjacent filaments preferably being of opposite hand-and encapsulated into a continuously extruded ribbon that is manipulated and appropriately severed to form the fabric. The ribbon may be wound into an annulus that is subsequently slit into a ply strip, or successive lengths of the ribbon may be joined into a ply strip. By either approach the bias of the reinforcing filaments in the finished tire may be preselected.
