Abstract:
A tool for crimping work pieces to one another is disclosed. The tool is mounted on a power actuator having a reciprocating ram for effecting crimping. The tool includes a body engageable with the workpiece. A movable head is mounted on the body and receives the ram. A jaw is pivotably mounted on the body. A link connects the head to the jaw, which pivots in response to the ram engaging and moving the head. The jaw has a tooth that penetrates the work pieces upon pivoting of the jaw. Penetration of the work pieces by the tooth crimps the pieces to one another. A receiver is mounted on the body to permit its engagement with the actuator by means of an attachment device adapted to a particular actuator. The tool may be removably attachable to the actuator or permanently attached thereto.
Abstract:
A device and method for driving a first prong of a multi-pronged fastener into a first board and bending a second prong angularly to give it a desired orientation with respect to the first prong. The invention involves an alignment structure, a first driver for driving the fastener into the first board, and a second driver for impacting and bending the second prong angularly with respect to the first prong.
Abstract:
A stapler device for stapling corners of objects such as boxes and frame together. The stapler device includes an elongate support member having a generally flat bottom side, a top side, a front end and a back end; and also includes a lever assembly having a front end and a back end and being hingedly attached to the elongate support member; and further includes a staple impact assembly being removably and securely mounted at the front end of the elongate support member.
Abstract:
An electric stapler has a stapling mechanism which is connected to a power source through a switch and staples a sheet stack inserted into a throat. An actuator is adapted to abut against an edge of a sheet stack at a plurality of positions along the edge of the sheet stack and to be moved by the sheet stack in response to insertion thereof to an operative position where it operates the switch to actuate the stapling mechanism. A sub-actuator is positioned in front of the actuator and is movable between an erected position where it stands into the sheet stack insertion passage to abut against a sheet stack when the sheet stack is inserted into the throat and a horizontal position where it is retracted from the sheet stack insertion passage not to abut against a sheet stack. The sub-actuator is adapted to abut against a pair of adjacent edges of a sheet stack forming a corner of the sheet stack when it is in the erected position and is movable to drive the actuator to the operative position pushed by the sheet stack as the sheet stack is further inserted into the throat.
Abstract:
An electric stapler in which sheets conveyed along the sheet guide surface are staplied in a stapling position on a sheet guide surface, the electric stapler comprises: a switch; a staple unit for stapling the sheets in the stapling position in response to the switch; a first actuator protruding in part from the sheet guide surface, wherein, when the first actuator brings into contact with more than one place of one edge side of the sheets conveyed beyond the stapling position and moved by the sheets being conveyed, the first actuator actuates the switch so as to operate the stapling unit; and a second actuator positioned upstream the first actuator, a part of the second actuator selectively projecting and retracting with respect to the sheet guide surface, wherein, when the second actuator brings into contact with predetermined lengths of different edge sides constituting a corner portion of the sheets being conveyed beyond the stapling position while the part protruding from the sheet guide surface and moved by the sheets being conveyed, the second actuator actuates the switch so as to operate the stapling unit.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for assembling mouldings incorporating several rabbets, which comprises a table for positioning the mouldings, slides supporting this table, rendered fast with two columns which are connected in their lower part by a base under which is mounted a jack whose rod is connected to a hammer which penetrates in a clip magazine, and in their upper part by a piece provided with a presser member located opposite the hammer. According to the invention, a clipping assembly is provided which bears the hammer and a sliding guide fast with the hammer, as well as a sensor; two small columns on which the clipping assembly may slide vertically; balancing means mounted on each small column below the clipping assembly; and a plate disposed at the top of the rod, and on which the hammer and the sliding guide rest, and which comprises a matching member opposite the sensor. The invention is more particularly applicable to the manufacture of wooden frames.
Abstract:
The machine operates upon a pair of mitered molding strips positioned on a flat base against guide rails at right angles to each other, to force their mating edges together and maintain them so while a clamp nail is driven into the juxtaposed strip ends to interlock the strips, thus forming an L-shaped member. A second L-shaped member is similarly formed of a second pair of mitered strips. To form a frame per se, each L-shaped member has one strip thereof positioned against one of the rails and the operation is repeated to interlock the juxtaposed ends of the two members. Finally, the two members which are interlocked at one end are withdrawn and reinserted after turning through an angle of 180 degrees, to interlock the opposite juxtaposed ends, thus completing the frame. To secure the two L-shaped members to a rectangular panel, they are fitted against the panel edges and with the panel between them the operations of interlocking the opposite ends of the members is repeated.
