    Abstract: A profile chamfering saw facility usable in chamfering the edges of honeycomb filler material for sandwich structures, reinforced panels and the like. The facility includes an elongated work support surface and provides means for mounting an inclined band saw for laterial and longitudinal movement with respect to the support surface along a template edge directing the band saw with respect to the filler material enabling its edges to be chamfered. Chamfer angle is adjustable by tilting the band saw in a vertical plane.

    Abstract: A band saw template jig configured to be used with a band saw for cutting a desired pattern in a work piece by guiding an attached template at a desired offset. The band saw template jig includes at least a base, at least one support shaft, a guide arm, and a guide end. The base is adapted to be secured onto a work surface using at least one securement member. The at least one support shaft operably engages with the base. The guide arm and guide end are collectively movable along the at least one support shaft and are adapted to be secured at a desired height on the at least one support shaft. The guide end is configured to allow a band saw blade to be positioned inside of the guide end for setting the desired offset between the work piece and the template attached with the work piece.

    Abstract: A mechanism for varying the position of a band saw blade in a tilting frame band saw. The mechanism includes an actuator, a tilt arm and a tilting frame. The actuator is pivotably connected to a support, and the tilt arm is pivotably connected to both the tilting frame and the actuator. The actuator is connected to the tilt arm such that the angular movement of the frame, which results from extension and retraction of the actuator, bears a substantially linear relationship to the stroke of the actuator. The mechanism of the present invention enables the frame to be made with an exceptionally wide sweep, and may be controlled by a proportional hydraulic valve controlled on the basis of location data provided by an encoder mounted within the tilting frame.
